In sports, a three-peat is winning three consecutive championships or tournaments. The term, a portmanteau of the words three and repeat, originated with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association, during their unsuccessful campaign for a third consecutive championship during the 1988–89 season, having won the previous 2 NBA finals.
The Central Lancashire Cricket League (CLCL) was a fifteen team cricket league, traditionally based in Lancashire and the West Riding of Yorkshire. It was then based in Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. The league ran competitions at First Team, Second Team, Third Team, Under 18, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 levels.
Heywood Cricket Club, based in Heywood, Greater Manchester, are an English cricket team that plays in the Central Lancashire Cricket League. They were founded around 1879. Currently the team also carries the name of Biwater's, a locally based company who sponsor the team.
Walsden Cricket Club are an English cricket team currently playing in the Lancashire League; however, despite being in a Lancashire league, the village is actually situated in the county of West Yorkshire.
Rochdale Cricket Club are an English cricket team from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, currently playing in the Lancashire League. Until 2015 they played in the Central Lancashire League, being one of the oldest - and most successful - of all the CLL teams. They joined the CLL in 1893, the league having been founded a year earlier under the title of the South East Lancashire league. Rochdale won the league title a record 28 times, the last occasion being in 2007. They also won the Wood Cup - a knockout competition - 13 times, equalling Littleborough.
The Stand Cricket Club was established in 1853.The clubs first original ground was sited off Ringley Road to the left of the fourth fairway at Stand GolfClub.The club's present ground is situated between Hamilton Road and Higher Lane in Whitefield, Bury, Greater Manchester. The club were founder members of the North Western Cricket league, which became the Lancashire and Cheshire Cricket League. In 1992 they became a member of the Central Lancashire League. Between 1993 and 2004, Stand CC had limited success, but in 2005, they moved into the Lancashire County League (LCL) for the 2005 season. Since joining the LCL the club have won the Walkden Cup (2008), the Hulme Trophy (2009), the 2nd XI Last Six Competition (2010) and the 3rd XI League, and the Bryden Trophy. The Stand Cricket Club were founder members of the Greater Manchester Cricket League in 2016, winning the Second Division as champions and the First Division Title in 2018.
Lancashire County Cricket Club represents the historic county of Lancashire in English cricket. The club has held first-class status since it was founded in 1864. Lancashire's home is Old Trafford Cricket Ground, although the team also play matches at other grounds around the county. Lancashire was a founder member of the County Championship in 1890 and has won the competition nine times. Lancashire has won 26 major honours in its history. The club's men's limited overs team is called Lancashire Lightning and women's team is Lancashire Thunder.
Middlesex County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Middlesex which has effectively been subsumed within the ceremonial county of Greater London. The club was founded in 1864 but teams representing the county have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century and the club has always held first-class status. Middlesex have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.

Tipperary in 1895 and 1900 is the only other county to achieve this unique feat. The late Teddy McCarthy is the only person to hold the unique record of winning two all Ireland senior medals in hurling and gaelic football in the one year. Another Cork man Brian Murphy is the only man in the history of the GAA to win all Ireland medals at senior u21 and minor level in both hurling and gaelic football.
