LocalLink 92 is a school-day only bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently runs from Glen Avenue and Key Avenue in Northwest Baltimore to Smith Avenue and Copper Ridge Road in Mount Washington or Old Court Road and Scotts Hill Drive in Pikesville.
The purpose of the line is to provide transportation for the students of Bais Yaakov and Talmudical Academy of Baltimore. Bais Yaakov has two campuses: one on Park Heights Avenue in Owings Mills, and one on Smith Avenue in Copper Ridge. Talmudical Academy is located on Old Court Road in Scotts Hills, between the Metro Station and the overpass over the beltway.
The no. 18 service officially began in 2010 for the 2010-11 school year, but MTA had a long history of providing buses for the students of Bais Yaakov and Talmudical Academy.
In the late 1980s, MTA started providing supplemental bus service to Bais Yaakov School for Girls in Owings Mills. These buses ran during school hours at the times of need for students. On weekdays, buses were identified as M-3, and on Sundays as 5. There was no service on Saturdays. Buses going to Bais Yaakov in the morning said "Velvet Ridge," and buses coming back in the afternoon said "Fallstaff Road" or "Northern Parkway." Buses to Fallstaff Road went to Smith and Sanzo along Park Heights Avenue, Northern Parkway, Pimlico Road, Kenoak Road, Greenspring Avenue, Cross Country Boulevard, Taney Road, Greenspring Avenue, Willowglen Drive, Fallstaff Road, Clarks Lane, and Sanzo Road. Others terminated at Park Heights Avenue and Northern Parkway.
In the mid 1990s, Bais Yaakov opened a second campus on Smith Avenue in Mt. Washington. Buses operating in the reverse direction were initiated to serve this location.
In the 2000s, MTA started to provide buses for Talmudical Academy of Baltimore. These buses ran using the M-10 designation and a route similar to the current no. 18. The buses did not drop students off on Old Court Road across from the school. They went around the block on Scotts Level Road for safety so students could be dropped off on the side of the road the school is on.
The no. 18 designation was also used for several routes in the Baltimore area in the past. It was first used for a streetcar that operated along Pennsylvania Avenue and to Canton from 1984 to 1952 along a route similar to that of today's Bus Route 7. This streetcar was converted to a bus that carried the no. 18 designation from 1952 to 1952 until it was combined with the Reisterstown Road Bus, then designated Route 7. [2] The no. 18 designation was not used again until 1973 until it was given to an express bus service that operated from Cockeysville, Timonium, and Hereford to Downtown Baltimore during rush hour. This route operated until May 1992, when it was converted to a shuttle between Timonium station and Hunt Valley Mall that operated until January 1993, when it was absorbed by Bus Route 9. [3]
The most recent route to use the no. 18 designation prior to the current one was a shuttle service that operated between the Cromwell light rail stop and Old Mill from 1993 to 1996, when it was discontinued. [3]
In 2017, Route 92 replaced Route 18 in its entirety under BaltimoreLink. [4]
There have been various controversies regarding bus services provided for students of these schools.
When service began for girls of Bais Yaakov, there had been reported incidents of child predators approaching girls waiting at bus stops, though no girls were harmed. There was also concern regarding the safety of girls who had to walk several blocks to or from their bus stops, which at some times of the year, would be in the dark. This was resolved by increased police and civilian patrols to the areas frequented by the girls.
There was also concern when service was initiated for the students of Talmudical Academy that boys and girls may be waiting at the bus stops at the same time. While there is no actual prohibition in the Jewish religion against this, the local rabbinical authorities did not feel comfortable with having boys and girls mingle at the bus stops. This was resolved by having buses run at different times for boys and girls, sometimes more than an hour apart.
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is a state-operated mass transit administration in Maryland, and is part of the Maryland Department of Transportation. The MTA operates a comprehensive transit system throughout the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area. There are 80 bus lines serving the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, along with rail services that include the Light Rail, Metro Subway, and MARC Train. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 52,922,000, or about per weekday as of the third quarter of 2023.
Mount Washington is an area of northwest Baltimore, Maryland. It is a designated city historic district and divided into two sections: South Road/Sulgrave to the southeast and Dixon's Hill to the north. The Mount Washington Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 with a boundary increase in 2001, with five contributing buildings and four contributing structures.
CityLink Navy is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. It replaced Route 1 in 2017. The bus route is the successor to the 1 Gilmor Street, 2 Carey Street, and 2 Fort Avenue streetcar lines.

Route 54 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The route was formerly known as Route 19 prior to 2017. The line currently runs from the State Center Metro Subway Station to the intersection of Harford Road and Northern Parkway. From there it splits into two branches. About one half of buses continue operating along Harford Road to the Carney Park-and-Ride just north of the I-695 interchange, and the other half to the intersection of Goucher Boulevard and Taylor Avenue in Towson via Northern, McLean Boulevard, Hillsway, and Taylor. The line serves the communities of Montebello, Hamilton, and Parkville.
Route 7 was a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line, which operated between 1959 and 2017, ran from Canton, Baltimore to the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station, serving the communities of Butcher's Hill, Little Italy, and Sandtown-Winchester.
Route 27 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently runs from the Reisterstown Plaza Metro Subway Station in northwest Baltimore to Port Covington in South Baltimore through downtown. The line also serves the communities of Pimlico, Mt. Washington, Cross Keys, Hampden, and Cherry Hill, and the Greyhound bus terminal. The bus route is the successor to the 10 Roland Park, 12 Westport, and 25 Mount Washington streetcar lines.

LocalLink Route 56 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line runs between the Park and Ride station in White Marsh and Charles Center in Downtown Baltimore. In June 2017, LocalLink 56 replaced the former local bus Route 35, which connected the city's downtown area with White Marsh, to the east of the city, and UMBC to the west. Route 35 was the successor to the No. 3 Wilkens Avenue and No, 6 Monument Street streetcar lines.
Route 64 was a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line ran from the intersection of North Avenue and St. Paul Street to Curtis Bay, with selected trips to Energy Parkway and Riviera Beach. The line also served Federal Hill, Port Covington, and Brooklyn.

LocalLink 29 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently runs from the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station in Northwest Baltimore to Brooklyn Homes in South Baltimore through the communities of Rosemont and the corridors of Hilton Street, Caton Avenue, and Patapsco Avenue. During peak hours, selected trips operate via Violetville Industrial Park.
LocalLink 85 is a bus route that operates in Baltimore and its suburbs. All trips operate from the Penn-North Metro Subway Station in Baltimore City to the Milford Mill Metro Subway Station in Pikesville. The route, which started operating on August 24, 2008, is a combination of the most recent versions of the former routes M-3 and M-8, which had been operating since 1984 and 1987 respectively. Prior to these dates, the routes had been served by other buses and streetcars.

LocalLink 83 is a bus route in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the Old Court Metro Subway Station in Pikesville, Maryland to the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station in Northwest Baltimore along Old Court Road and Reisterstown Road, serving the communities of Park Heights and the Reisterstown Road Plaza. The line is the successor to Bus Route 7, which still operates south of Mondawmin. Route 7 operated along Reisterstown Road outside the Metro's hours of operation until 2001.
Route 48 was a limited stop bus, identified as a "Quickbus", operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line ran from the University of Maryland Transit Center to Towson along the York Road/Greenmount Avenue corridor. Service operated Monday through Saturday every 15 minutes between 5:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
Route 46 was a limited stop bus route, identified as a "Quickbus", operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line ran from the Cedonia Loop in Northeast Baltimore to the Paradise Loop, in Catonsville. Service operated every 15 minutes during rush hour only. The line served the corridors of Frederick Avenue in West Baltimore, and Sinclair Lane/Cedonia Ave in Northeast Baltimore including the communities of Yale Heights, and Gwynns Falls in West Baltimore, and Berea and Parkside in East Baltimore.
