Stenodus leucichthys is a species of freshwater whitefish in the family Salmonidae. In the strict sense its natural distribution is restricted to the Caspian Sea basin, and it is known as beloribitsa. The beloribitsa is now considered extinct in the wild, but survives in cultured stocks. The nelma, a more widespread species of Eurasian and North America, is sometimes considered its subspecies.

The humpback whitefish, also referred to as the bottom whitefish, the Arctic whitefish or the pidschian, is a species of freshwater whitefish with a northern distribution. It is one of the members in the broader common whitefish complex, or the Coregonus clupeaformis complex. This fish lives in estuaries and brackish water near river mouths, in deltas and in slowly running rivers, in large lakes with tributaries, and floodplain lakes. It can migrate long distances upriver for spawning.
Yasuhikotakia modesta is a tropical freshwater fish of the family Botiidae. It is native to large rivers in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The blue botia is a widely available fish in the aquarium trade and can be purchased globally.
Epalzeorhynchos is a small ray-finned fish genus of the family Cyprinidae. Its members are – like some other cyprinids – known as "freshwater sharks" or simply "sharks". They are, however, freshwater members of the Osteichthyes lineage which is distinct from the Chondrichthyes lineage of sharks. The description of these animals as "shark" is most likely a reference to the shark-like shape of these popular cyprinids.

It is widespread in the Arctic rivers from the Kola Peninsula eastward across Siberia to the Anadyr River and also in the North American basins of the Yukon River and Mackenzie River.
Ataran River is a river of Burma and Thailand. In Thailand, it is usually known as the Kasat River. It merges into the larger Gyaing River and Salween River near the city of Mawlamyine. A main tributary of the Ataran River is the Zami River. The Ataran and its tributaries begin near the Thai-Burmese border and flow in a general north-north-west direction.
Systomus jacobusboehlkei is a species of cyprinid fish native to the lower Mekong and Chao Phraya Basins of Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. It inhabits marshlands and floodplains, swamps, and small, slow-flowing tributaries. It is present in local food fisheries, along with other small species. This species can reach a length of 12 centimetres (4.7 in) SL.
Schistura bairdi is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Schistura.
Schistura balteata is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. It found in hill streams draining from the Myinmoletkat Taung mountain in Tenasserim in southern Myanmar, and has now been recorded in western Thailand too. It is kept in the aquarium trade where it is often referred to as the sumo loach, the specific name derives from the Latin balteatus, which means baldric or shoulder strap, referring to the colour pattern this species.
Schistura sexcauda is a species of ray-finned fish, a stone loach, in the genus Schistura. It is found in the basin of the Chao Phraya River in central Thailand where it has been recorded in streams with a moderate to fast current and in riffles, over substrates consisting of gravel to stone. It is known to be raised in local subsistence fisheries and traded both nationally and internationally as an ornamental fish.
Balitora annamitica is a species of hill-stream loach from the Mekong River Basin in Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos, and possibly Vietnam. It might be more than one species.
Homaloptera confuzona is a species of hillstream loach in the genus Homaloptera found in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. It lives in the lower Mekong drainage and coastal streams of Cambodia and eastern Thailand. The maximum size is about 40 cm (16 in) SL.

Certain species of Opsarius are considered endemic to their respective habitats; such as Opsarius cocsa and Opsariusmaculatus which are endemic to India.
Pao turgidus is a species of freshwater pufferfish native to the Mekong basin. It may also occur in the Chao Phraya basin in Thailand. This species grows to a length of 18.5 centimetres (7.3 in) SL.

Doryichthys contiguus is a species of freshwater fish of the family Syngnathidae. It is found in the lower Mekong basin in Lao PDR, Thailand, and Cambodia. It lives among grasses, roots, or shore vegetation in slow moving river stretches, where it can grow to lengths of 11 centimetres (4.3 in). This species is ovoviviparous, with males carrying eggs before giving birth to live young. Its body is a dark brown.
