"Jingle Bell Rock" was composed by Joseph Carleton Beal and James Ross Boothe, although both Helms and session guitarist on the song Hank Garland disputed this. Beal was a Massachusetts-born public relations professional and longtime resident of South Ocean Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Boothe was an American writer in the advertising business.

"Do It to It" is the lead single from American girl group Cherish's 2006 debut album, Unappreciated. "Do It to It" features rap/hip hop artist Sean P. The song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 during its 16th week on the chart. It also reached number three on the New Zealand Singles Chart, where it charted for 23 weeks. It had strong video play on BET and reached number two on 106 & Park. The song played for the limit of 65 days on the countdown and was eventually retired. It was the only video to be retired that year that did not reach number one.

The song was written and produced by the Weeknd, Ben Billions, and Doc McKinney, with additional writing credits going to Belly and Lana Del Rey, the latter of whom provides background vocals.

"Makeba" is a song by French singer-songwriter Jain, released on 6 November 2015, from her debut studio album, Zanaka. It was written by Jain and produced by her longtime collaborator Maxim Nucci. The refrain of the song used a sample from the 1978 song "Me and the Gang" by the American percussionist, songwriter, arranger, and record producer Hamilton Bohannon. "Makeba" peaked at number seven on the French Singles Chart. It references Miriam Makeba, also known as "Mama Africa", a South African singer and anti-apartheid civil rights activist.

The song appears on the Christmas editions of both The Lockdown Sessions and =, John's collaborative album and Sheeran's fifth studio album, respectively. Sheeran and John wrote the song and it was produced by Steve Mac. "Merry Christmas" entered at the top of the UK Singles Chart during the chart week of 10 December 2021, becoming Sheeran's twelfth chart-topper in the country and John's ninth number-one single in the country. It also topped the charts in the Flanders region of Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
