Love Is Forever is the ninth studio album by Cliff Richard released in 1965 (sixteenth album overall). [2] The album reached number 19 in the UK Album Charts, returning him to the chart after the failure of his last album When in Rome , [3] and is primarily made up of pop standards such as "Long Ago (And Far Away)", "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You", and "Someday (You'll Want Me To Want You)".

The album was produced primarily by Richard's usual producer Norrie Paramor, but two songs "Everyone Needs to Love Someone" and "Through the Eye of a Needle", written by renowned song-writing duo Burt Bacharach and Hal David, were from Richard's August 1964 recording sessions in New York with Bob Morgan producing. Bob Morgan was from Epic Records, Richard's US record company at the time. [4] "Paradise Lost" was recorded in Nashville and produced by Billy Sherrill. [5]

"A Forever Kind of Love" is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Jack Keller and recorded by Bobby Vee. Bobby recorded 2 different versions of the song, the first at Abbey Rd in the UK in February 1962 with backing vocals by the Mike Sammes Singers. That version was produced by Snuff Garrett and arranged by Norrie Paramor and released as a single only in the UK and Australia. It reached #13 in the United Kingdom in 1962. On return to the US, Vee recorded another version of the song on March 27, 1962 at the same session as "Sharing You" at United Recording Studios in LA. It was produced by Snuff Garrett and arranged by Ernie Freeman, however the new recording lacked the sparkle of the earlier UK version and was issued only on his 1962 album, A Bobby Vee Recording Session.
