Lurdes Gloria Manuel (born 12 July 2005) is a Czech sprinter. In 2024, she became Czech national indoor champion over 200 metres and set a European U20 indoor record over 300 metres. [1]
She was a silver medalist in the 400 metres at the 2022 European Athletics U18 Championships in Jerusalem. [2]
At the Czech Championships in 2023 she finished second with a personal best of 51.23, a Czech age-group record. [3] [4] She won gold in the 400 metres at the 2023 European Athletics U20 Championships in Jerusalem. [5] [6] At the same championships she was a bronze medalist in the women's 4x400 metres relay. [7]
In January 2024, she set a new European U20 indoor record over 300 metres in Prague. [8] [9] In February 2024, she became Czech national indoor champion over 200 metres in Ostrava. [10]
In May 2024, she lowered her own national under-20 record as she ran 50.59 for the 400 metres at the Ostrava Golden Spike event to meet the qualifying standard for the 2024 Paris Olympics. [11] [12] She lowered her personal best to 50.52 seconds in placing fourth overall in the final of the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome on 10 June 2024. [13]
She grew up in the Czech Republic, her father is from Angola and her mother is from Russia. She has a younger brother Christian Teca, and younger sister Angela Linda. She is a member of TJ VS Tábor. Her nickname is Lu. [14] [15]
Taťána Netoličková is a retired 400 metres runner who represented Czechoslovakia. Her greatest achievement was winning the silver medal behind teammate Jarmila Kratochvílová at the 1983 World Championships in a personal best time of 48.59s. A time that still ranks her eighth on the world all-time list. She won a second silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. In 1984, she won the 400m at the European Indoor Championships. She also holds the world best for the unofficial distance of 500 metres.
Denisa Helceletová, formerly Rosolová, née Ščerbová is a Czech former athlete who has won medals at the European Championships and European Indoor Championships.
Zuzana Hejnová is a retired Czech athlete who specialised in the 400 metres hurdles. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2012 London Olympics. Hejnová is a two-time World Champion, having claimed titles at the 2013 and 2015 World Championships in Athletics. She won bronze at the 2012 European Championships and silver for the 400 metres at the 2017 European Indoor Championships.
