MTV Unplugged is the DVD release from Hitomi Yaida of her performance for MTV Unplugged.

Recorded in the Tokyo FM Hall in April 2005, this performance was shown on an episode of MTV Unplugged broadcast on MTV Japan.

Yaida became the 3rd Japanese performing artist to appear on MTV Unplugged, the others being Ken Hirai and Utada Hikaru.

Presented as a 2 DVD package, the 2nd DVD presented a documentary behind-the-scenes of the creation of this recording.

A selection of the songs performed also appeared in audio form on the CD Sound Drop MTV Unplugged+Acoustic Live 2005.

MTV Unplugged is an American television series on MTV showcasing musical artists usually playing acoustic instruments. The show aired regularly from 1989 to 1999 and less frequently from 2000 to 2009, when it was usually billed as MTV Unplugged No. 2.0. Since 2009, MTV Unplugged specials have aired occasionally, sometimes online only. Episodes and specials have tended to showcase one artist or group, playing a combination of their hit songs and covers.

MTV Unplugged in New York is a live album by American rock band Nirvana, released on November 1, 1994 by DGC Records. It features an acoustic performance recorded at Sony Music Studios in New York City on November 18, 1993, for the television series MTV Unplugged. The show was directed by Beth McCarthy and aired on the cable television network MTV on December 16, 1993. In a break with MTV Unplugged convention, Nirvana played mainly lesser-known material and covers of songs by the Vaselines, David Bowie, Lead Belly, and Meat Puppets. Meat Puppets members Cris and Curt Kirkwood joined Nirvana for three songs.

Unplugged is a live album and DVD by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on July 30, 1996 by Columbia Records. It was recorded on April 10, 1996 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Majestic Theatre for the television series MTV Unplugged. The show was directed by Joe Perota and first aired on MTV on May 28, 1996. The MTV Unplugged was Alice in Chains' first concert in two and a half years, and contains live, acoustic versions of the band's biggest hits and lesser-known songs. A new song, "The Killer Is Me", was performed for the first time during the concert. The acoustic version of "Over Now" was released as a single. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and has been certified platinum by the RIAA. The performance was released on DVD on October 26, 1999, and re-released as a CD/DVD package featuring unaired footage on September 18, 2007. The home video release has received gold certification by RIAA.

Hitomi Yaida 矢井田瞳 is a Japanese pop/folk rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. She often goes by the nickname Yaiko. Her musical style is often called "heart rock" by her fans. Yaida is an established musical artist in Japan and has also had minor club hits in the United Kingdom.

Unplugged is the first live album by American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys. It was recorded as part of the television program MTV Unplugged on July 4, 2005 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York City. It was released in the United States on October 11, 2005 by J Records. The album includes songs from her multi-platinum albums Songs in A Minor and The Diary of Alicia Keys. It debuted on the US Billboard 200 chart at number one, with first-week sales of 196,000 copies in the US, and over 245,000 copies worldwide, the highest debut for an MTV Unplugged album since Nirvana's 1994 MTV Unplugged in New York and the first Unplugged by a female artist to debut at number one. Hard Luck Woman

"Hard Luck Woman" is a song by American hard rock band Kiss and the lead single from their 1976 album, Rock and Roll Over. It was originally written by Paul Stanley as a possible track for Rod Stewart, but after the success of the soft rock ballad "Beth", Kiss decided to keep it for themselves as a follow-up. Stanley has stated his admiration and love of Stewart's music numerous times, and that "Hard Luck Woman" was inspired by Rod Stewart, in particular the songs "Maggie May" and "You Wear It Well". While Stewart's music served as a partial inspiration for the song, the nautical themed song "Brandy" by American pop-rock band Looking Glass served as Stanley's main inspiration.

Music Pool 2002 is the first live album by Hitomi Yaida released on 19 February 2003. The full title is Aozora Records Music Pool 2002 performed by Yaiko, as this event was an exposition of Aozora records' artists at the time performing around and with Yaida. Recorded in the Osaka International Expo park, it features appearances by both Imogen Heap and Daishi Katoaka.

Bjork on MTV: Unplugged & Live is an official DVD released by Björk on 9 February 2002. It features two complete MTV performances: the first show was recorded on MTV Unplugged in 1994 during the promotion of her album Debut and the second show was recorded on MTV Live in 1998 for the promotion of her album Homogenic. A cover of the track "My Funny Valentine" was performed on the MTV Unplugged performance but is not included on this DVD.

Got Me Wrong 1994 single by Alice in Chains

"Got Me Wrong" is a largely acoustic song by the American rock band Alice in Chains, originally featured on the band's 1992 EP, Sap. Written by guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell, who also shared vocals with Layne Staley. A slightly different version of the song also appeared on the soundtrack to the 1994 comedy film Clerks, and is played when the character Randal first appears in the movie. "Got Me Wrong" was released as a single in 1994 after being featured on Clerks. The song was included on the compilation albums Nothing Safe: Best of the Box (1999) and Music Bank (1999). An acoustic version performed on Alice in Chains' MTV Unplugged concert in 1996 was released on a live album and DVD.

Maná MTV Unplugged is a complete live album that was recorded in Miami, Florida for MTV by Mexican rock band Maná. Maná's MTV Unplugged performance was a live show which was performed in an acoustic sound. The live performance was recorded on March 10, 1998 and released on CD and DVD on May 14, 1999 in the Americas and Spain. It includes exclusive re-make versions of the José Alfredo Jiménez song "Te Solte La Rienda", the Rubén Blades song "Desapariciones", and "Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez" by Juan Gabriel. As of 2000, it sold 2 millions of copies.

The channel recruited various mainstream and popular artists to perform as part of the series, including Perry, who particularly expressed interest in the idea as it would allow her to showcase herself as an artist and share the stories behind her songs.

MTV Unplugged is the second live album by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine, released on 6 April 2012 by Island Records. It was filmed on 15 December 2011 in New York City's oldest synagogue building, the Angel Orensanz Center, as part of the MTV Unplugged series, with the band being backed by a ten-person choir. The album contains acoustic performances of eleven songs, nine from the band's two studio albums, Lungs (2009) and Ceremonials (2011) alongside a cover of "Jackson" with Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and "Try a Little Tenderness". Upon its release, MTV Unplugged received mixed to positive reviews by music critics.

Above and Beyond – MTV Unplugged by the Swedish rock band Mando Diao is the CD and DVD recording of their Unplugged show on 2 September 2010 in Berlin. The track list contains acoustic versions of a variety of songs reaching from their first to their last album, and including their most popular songs as well as new ones. Losing My Mind and No More Tears were performed in public for the first time during the show.
Juliette Lewis, Ray Davies, Klaus Voormann and Lana Del Rey are performing as guests. Mando Diao´s former keyboarder, Daniel Haglund, also appears as guest and additional musician.

On Your Mark is a song by the Japanese rock duo Chage & Aska. The song was released in 1994 as part of the single Heart. It became a million selling hit single upon its release and has been performed in concert by the duo. The song has been included on a variety of their albums. Originally written with Japanese lyrics an English language adaptation was created and released under the title Castles in the Air. It was notably performed by Chage and Aska during their recorded MTV Unplugged session, the first such session by an act from Asia.

Unplugged Café Tacuba is a complete live album that was recorded in 1995 and released in 2005 as a CD/ DVD combo by Mexican alternative rock group Café Tacvba. Café Tacuba was the first Latin rock band to ever appear on MTV Unplugged. The live performance was recorded in 1995 and released on CD and DVD in 5.1 surround sound on June 7, 2005. The MTV Unplugged album includes the selections "El Metro," "La Ingrata," "Esa Noche," "Una Manana," "Bar Tacuba," and others.
