MTV Unplugged is the first live album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira,released on 29 February 2000,by Columbia Records [ citation needed ] and Sony Latin. It was recorded on 12 August 1999,during her MTV Unplugged performance at the Grand Ballroom in New York City.
The performance was released in 2000 as a live album,and again in 2002 as a DVD. It was critically acclaimed by American critics and earned Shakira her first Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album.To promote the album,"No Creo" was released as single,meanwhile "Dónde Están los Ladrones?" and "Ojos Así" released as promotional singles. The Unplugged concert was the program's first episode to be broadcast entirely in Spanish and served as her major breakthrough in the U.S. market. [5] The concert is noted to be the "first time a Latin pop act attempted an Unplugged,the first Latina solo act to do so,and the first time a Latino act didn't tape their performance at MTV's studios in Miami." The concert has received critical acclaim,and is included on lists of best unplugged performances. The performance is listed on Vulture Magazine's “7 Really Good MTV Unplugged Performances”list. [7] Nylon has included “Sombra De Ti”on the list “10 Of The Best ‘MTV Unplugged’Performances.” [8] Yardbarker ranked the album at number 3 on their list of“20 greatest MTV 'Unplugged' albums.”. [9] ”Remezcla”includes the performance on “The 10 Most Iconic Latin American ‘MTV Unplugged’Performances.” [10] MTV Unplugged has sold over 1.3 million units worldwide by June 2001. [11]

Dónde Están los Ladrones? is the fourth studio album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, released on 29 September 1998 by Sony Music Colombia. After attaining success in Latin America with her major-label debut, Pies Descalzos (1995), Shakira met producer Emilio Estefan, who identified her potential to break into the US Latin market and became her manager. As co-producer, Shakira enlisted previous collaborator Luis Fernando Ochoa along with Pablo Flores, Javier Garza, Lester Mendez, and Estefan, who served as executive producers. Dónde Están los Ladrones? incorporates Latin pop styles, with influences of rock en español and Middle Eastern music.
Laundry Service is the fifth studio album and first English-language album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, globally released on 13 November 2001 by Epic Records. After her fourth studio album Dónde Están los Ladrones? became a success in Latin America, Spain, the Middle East and the Latin community in the United States, Shakira was encouraged by American singer Gloria Estefan to record songs in English as she believed her friend had the potential to cross over into the English-language pop market. Shakira was hesitant at first, but then decided to learn English well enough to write songs in the language. The title of the album reflects Shakira's views on love and music. It was released as Servicio de Lavandería in Hispanic regions in January 2002. Laundry Service is primarily a pop rock record but it also experiments with Andean music, dance-pop, Middle Eastern music, rock and roll and tango music. The album's theme is love and romance. Every song on it was written and produced by Shakira under the guidance of Emilio Estefan.
Unplugged is a 1992 live album by Eric Clapton, recorded at Bray Studios, England in front of an audience for the MTV Unplugged television series. It includes a version of the successful 1992 single "Tears in Heaven" and an acoustic version of "Layla". The album itself won three Grammy awards at the 35th Annual Grammy Awards in 1993 and became the bestselling live album of all time, and Clapton's bestselling album, selling 26 million copies worldwide.
Grandes Éxitos is the first greatest hits album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira. It was released on 2 November 2002, by Sony Music Colombia, one year after her fifth studio album and English-language debut Laundry Service. It is composed of Spanish-language recordings from her third, fourth and fifth studio efforts Pies Descalzos (1995), Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998) and Laundry Service (2001), along with the live album MTV Unplugged (2000). The album only featured Spanish-language tracks without new recordings. It also did not include songs from her first two studio albums, Magia and Peligro. To promote the album, "Que Me Quedes Tú", "Si Te Vas", and "Ojos Así" released as promotional singles in select countries.
Live & off the Record is the second live album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira. The album was released in 2004, consisting of a two-disc CD and DVD compilation. The CD includes recordings of live performances recorded during 2003 and 2004, and the DVD includes footage from Shakira's Tour of the Mongoose live performance in Rotterdam, Netherlands on 22 April 2003. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in May 2004. It was number one on the US Top Music Videos chart on 17 April 2004.
Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 is the sixth studio album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira. It was released on 3 June 2005 by Epic Records. After attaining international success in 2001 with her fifth studio album and first English-language record, Laundry Service, Shakira wanted to release a fifth Spanish-language project as a follow-up. In the vein of her earlier work, Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 is a Latin pop album. Shakira enlisted Rick Rubin as executive producer, also working with Gustavo Cerati, Lester Mendez, Luis Fernando Ochoa and Jose "Gocho" Torres.

After its release for the first time in over 36 countries across the globe, the band began to receive wide international attention, especially in Spain and the U.S., where the album sold over one million copies. This album was born of the desire to create an environment where water, a vital element, has an important presence. Because of this, the record was recorded in the coastal city of Puerto Vallarta, an important location in the creative atlas of Maná. Sueños Líquidos garnered Maná its first Grammy Award, for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Performance. The album was given a Premio Lo Nuestro award for "Pop Album of the Year" which was shared with Shakira for "¿Dónde están los ladrones?. It was released on DVD-Audio format in 2001. In the accompanying music video, Shakira is depicted as singing in an arena full of admirers screaming for her. Shakira wrote the lyrics for the song. "Moscas en la Casa" was released as a radio-only single. The song did not receive a music video, however, a performance from the live album MTV Unplugged was released instead.
