Madison Park, a neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, is primarily made up of single-family and multi-family residential homes. [3] It is commonly referred to as the Montford/Madison Park/Park Road Shopping Center area; acknowledged in a 2018 survey of more than 5,000 Charlotte residents. [4] The zip-codes that make up Madison Park include 28217, 28210, and 28209. The neighborhood is located between South Boulevard, East Woodlawn Road, Park Road, and slightly extends beyond Tyvola Road. [5] It has a Neighborhood Association, whereby the board of directors help determine the neighborhood boundaries. [6]

Madison Park hosts one of the largest National Night Out events in Charlotte; their 8th hosting on August 2, 2011 estimated over 1,000 residents. [7] The latest event occurred August 6, 2019. [8]

History

Madison Park was developed almost 60 years ago in the late 1950s, as one of the first post-World War II neighborhoods in Charlotte. It consists of brick, ranch-style homes and was originally catered to middle-class family. [9] Today, a mix of original homes and other styles such as cape cods, split levels and mid-century modern can be found. [10]

Route 4 is an 18.6-mile (29.9 km) partial ring road located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Park Road Shopping Center is an open air strip mall located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is located northeast of the intersection of Woodlawn Rd. and Park Rd. in the south central part of Charlotte. Little Sugar Creek Greenway Park and stream restoration project

Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a linear park and stream restoration project in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. When completed it will consist of twenty miles of trails and paved walkways running from Cordelia Park just north of uptown Charlotte, then south through midtown Charlotte, and continuing all the way to the South Carolina state line. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a key part of the Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT) and a segment in the Carolina Thread Trail, a regionwide network of trails that pass through 15 counties.

Formally known as York Road, the renaming of the neighborhood came from redevelopers and businesses that want to emulate the Charlotte neighborhoods of NoDa and South End.
