Jigawa is a state in Nigeria,located in the northern region of the country. Jigawa was created on 27 August 1991,under the General Ibrahim Babangida military administration. Jigawa State was formerly part of Kano State and was located in the northeastern-most region of Kano State. It forms part of Nigeria's national border with the Republic of Niger. The state capital and largest city is Dutse. Jigawa state has 27 local governments.

The 2019 Nigerian House of Representatives elections in Zamfara State was held on February 23,2019,to elect members of the House of Representatives to represent Zamfara State,Nigeria. The All Progressives Congress won all seats but the Supreme Court nullified the elections of all the candidates of the APC in the elections. Muhammad Bello Yakubu is a Nigerian politician. He served as a member representing Bunza/Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Born in 1962,he hails from Kebbi State. He succeeded Abdulahi Faruk and was elected into the House of Assembly at the 2019 elections. He decamped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022. He was defeated by Abba Bello Mohammed at the party primaries for the 2023 elections.
