Malkinola is a monotypic genus of South American dwarf spiders containing the single species, Malkinola insulanus. It was first described by J. A. Miller in 2007, [2] and has only been found in Chile. [1]
Erigoninae are the largest subfamily of sheet weavers (Linyphiidae), which is itself the second largest spider family. In the United States they are known as dwarf spiders, while they are called money spiders in England. The exact taxonomic limits of the subfamily are not yet known.

Eugène Simon described the first female in 1902 under the name "Neriene fuegiana", but the first male was not described until 2019. It has only been found in Argentina and on the Falkland Islands.
