Manaar is a town in Gert Sibande District Municipality in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.
Gert Sibande is one of the 3 districts of Mpumalanga province of South Africa. The seat of Gert Sibande is Ermelo. The majority of its 900 007 people speak IsiZulu. The district code is DC30. On 15 October 2004, the municipality changed its name from the "Eastvaal" to "Gert Sibande" District Municipality. The district is named after the ANC activist Gert Sibande.
Mpumalanga is a province of South Africa. The name means "east", or literally "the place where the sun rises" in the Swazi, Xhosa, Ndebele and Zulu languages. Mpumalanga lies in eastern South Africa, bordering Swaziland and Mozambique. It constitutes 6.5% of South Africa's land area.
