Marc-Antoine Olivier (born 18 June 1996) is a French competitive swimmer who specialises in long-distance open water events.

Career

Olivier's father and brother were both swimmers, which inspired him to take up the sport as well. He began swimming when he was seven in Denain, France, and he began open-water swimming at the age of fifteen. [3] At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships he finished 6th in the 10 km open water, which qualified him for the Olympic marathon.

He won the bronze medal in the 10 km open water marathon at the 2016 Summer Olympics, outtouching Zu Lijun of China who was recorded in the same time. [4]

He was qualified to represent France at the 2020 Summer Olympics where he finished 6th. [5]

Axel Reymond is a French Marathon swimmer in open water swimming events. Lives near Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne), he was training at AS Plessis-Savigny Natation by Magali Mérino. In May 2014, he joined her at the Cercle des Nageurs of Fontainebleau-Avon, where he remains committed to his training while becoming licensed in CSM Clamart Natation in 2016. After several victories in Open Water Swimming French Cup since 2009 on different distances, after several Champion titles of France on 25 km (16 mi), after a bronze medal during the 2012 Open Water Swimming European Championships at Piombino, he landed, 17 August 2014, the gold medal of the 25 km (16 mi) during the 2014 European Swimming Championships in Berlin. He is a member of the France Swimming A Team since 2012. 15 November 2015, he beats the hour record of France by browsing 5859.25m during the 2015 National Autumn Meeting National at Compiègne. 14 July 2016, the French National Day, he again won the 25 km from the European Championships at Hoorn (Netherlands). In Budapest, on 21 July 2017, Axel won the 25 km of the World Championships in 2017 and became the first French Men's World Champion in that distance. In August 2017, he joined the club of A.A.S. Sarcelles Natation 95.

The men's marathon swimming at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place on 16 August at Fort Copacabana, over a distance of 10 kilometres.

Jordan Matthew Wilimovsky is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in open water swimming. At the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia, Wilimovsky won the gold medal in the 10 km open water event. Wilimovsky won by a margin of 12.1 seconds over the second-place finisher Ferry Weertman of the Netherlands. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Wilimovsky competed in both pool swimming and open water swimming events, becoming the first American to swim in both types of events at one Olympic Games.

Alice Georgina Dearing is a British swimmer, specialising in open water events. In June 2021, Dearing qualified to represent Great Britain in the 2020 Olympics. Dearing co-founded the Black Swimming Association in 2020. The charity was founded to encourage swimming among BME communities in Britain, and has the support of Swim England.

Domenico Acerenza is an Italian open water swimmer and pool swimmer. He is the 2022 European Aquatics Championships gold medalist in the 10 kilometre open water swim and the 2022 World Aquatics Championships silver medalist in the 10 kilometre open water swim. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, he placed ninth in the 1500 metre freestyle.

Dario Verani is an Italian competitive open water swimmer. At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, he won the world title and gold medal in the 25 kilometre open water swim. He won the silver medal in the 25 kilometre open water swim at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships and the bronze medal in the 5 kilometre open water swim at the 2020 European Aquatics Championships. He was champion in the 5 kilometre open water swim at the inaugural Mediterranean Beach Games in 2015.
