Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan former professional cricketer who represented Sri Lanka from 2000 to 2015. A former captain in all formats. He was born in Matale,Central Province. In first-class cricket,he played for Nondescripts Cricket Club from 1997–98 to 2013–14 and for Surrey County Cricket Club from 2015 to 2017. Sangakkara is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketer of all time. He was a key part of the Sri Lankan squads which won the 2001-02 Asian Test Championship,2002 ICC Champions Trophy and 2014 T20 World Cup.
Don Sardha Brendon Priyantha Kuruppu is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played as a wicket-keeper and opening batsman. He is one of few batsmen in the world to score a double century on debut. Brendon was often played in One Day Internationals,making 54 appearances for the national team from 1983 to 1990,but his short Test career was largely unremarkable but for one productive innings in Colombo when he scored 201,becoming the first batsman to score a Test century on debut for Sri Lanka.
Matthew James Prior is a South African-born English former cricketer,who played for England in Test cricket and for Sussex County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He was a wicket-keeper and his aggressive right-handed batting enabled him to open the innings in ODI matches,even though he made very limited appearances in shorter forms of the game. With an international Test debut score of 126,Prior became the first English wicket-keeper to hit a century in his debut match in early 2007. His glovework,however,was criticised. Despite a successful tour of Sri Lanka with the bat,Prior's keeping was less successful,and he was dropped from the team for the 2008 tour of New Zealand. He returned for the 2008 series against South Africa,and was retained into 2009,where he became the second-fastest England keeper to reach 1,000 Test runs,behind Les Ames. He retired in June 2015 from all forms of professional cricket due to a recurring Achilles tendon injury.
Denis Thomson Lindsay was a South African cricketer who played 19 Test matches for South Africa between 1963 and 1970. His outstanding series was against Australia in 1966–67,when he scored 606 runs in seven innings,including three centuries,took 24 catches as wicketkeeper and conceded only six byes.

Deshabandu Pinnaduwage Aravinda de Silva is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and captain,Regarded as one of the best Sri Lankan cricketers,he played in the team as an all-rounder. De Silva was a key member of the Sri Lankan team that won 1996 Cricket World Cup,where he scored a match winning century in the final,that brought Sri Lanka from underdog status to present-day form. He has held various posts in Sri Lankan Cricket after his retirement in 2003. He was inducted into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2023.

Mathurage Don Kusal Janith Perera,aka Kusal Perera is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer currently plays limited overs cricket and a former ODI cricket captain. He was a key member of the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 winning team.
The South Africa cricket team toured Sri Lanka in July and August 2018 to play two Tests,five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a Twenty20 International (T20I) match. Originally,the tour was for three Test matches,but the third match was dropped and replaced by the ODI and T20I fixtures. The extra ODI fixtures were used as preparation for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
