Matilda Mecini (born October 5, 1988 in Tirana, Albania) is a beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Albania 2008 on April 4, 2008. Mecini then represented Albania in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008.
Tirana is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Albania.

Mecini studied World Literature at the University of Tirana. She is a basketball player and was the team leader of the professional basketball team Tirana when she was sixteen-years-old. Mecini started modeling in her mid teens for Sherri Hill and Roberto Cavalli. She has since modeled for other fashion designers in England, France, Italy, United States, and Albania. She speaks Albanian, English, Italian and French.[ citation needed ]
The University of Tirana is a public university and the largest in Albania. It was originally established in 1957 as the State University of Tirana through merging of five existing institutes of higher education, the most important of which was the Institute of Sciences, founded in 1947.
