Brook Lee of the United States won the competition and was crowned by Alicia Machado of Venezuela. Seventy-four delegates competed in this year.This was the last edition of Miss Universe where the winner was enthroned onstage during the crowning ceremony.
Miss Universe 2007, the 56th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 28 May 2007 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico. Riyo Mori from Japan was crowned by Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico as her successor at the end of the event. 77 contestants competed in this year.

Fedorova was dethroned four months later and 1st runner-up Justine Pasek of Panama took over the Miss Universe title.

The pageant was watched by a live audience of 7,500 and nearly a billion television viewers worldwide.
