Joy-Ann Biscette is a Saint Lucian model and beauty pageant titleholder that has represented her country at several regional and international pageants from 2005 to 2013.

After winning a local pageant in St. Lucia in 2005, she represented the country at Miss World 2008 in South Africa and Miss Jamzone 2010 held in Guyana [2] where she was first runner up. Having worked in the sales and service sector of the tourism industry and as an associate degree holder from Arthur Lewis Community College she entered the Miss St Lucia Universe pageant and won. As Miss St. Lucia Universe, she went to Miss Universe 2011 held in São Paulo, Brazil. [3] [4] [5] In 2013 she also participated as Miss St. Lucia in the Caribbean Miss World pageant, placing as the third runner up. [6] [7]

Miss World 2011, the 61st edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 6 November 2011 at the Earls Court Two in London, United Kingdom. As part of the events, the contestants also travelled to Edinburgh, Scotland between 23 and 27 October. Alexandria Mills of the United States crowned her successor Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela at the end of the event, she is the sixth Venezuelan woman to win Miss World - currently tied with India for the most wins in the competition's history. Miss World 2013, the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 28 September 2013 at Bali International Convention Center, South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia. It was the first time in Southeast Asia and it also was the first time in the pageant's history that the event was held in a Muslim majority country. Contestants from 127 countries and territories competed in this year's Miss World pageant, marking the biggest turnout for any beauty pageant globally as of 2024. Yu Wenxia of China crowned her successor Megan Young of the Philippines at the end of the event, marking the only time to date that the Philippines has won the Miss World title. Sharie De Castro is a Virgin Islander beauty pageant titleholder and politician. She was crowned Miss British Virgin Islands 2012 and represented the British Virgin Islands in the 2013 Miss Universe pageant. She is an At-large representative for the House of Assembly of the British Virgin Islands, a position that she has held since the 2019 general election. She is the current Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture.

Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 December 2016, at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975.

The Miss Virgin Islands' Outstanding Teen competition is the pageant that previously selected the representative for the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant. There has not been a representative from the U.S. Virgin Islands at the national pageant since 2015.

The Miss Saint Lucia or Miss Saint Lucia Universe is a national Beauty pageant in Saint Lucia where the winner is sent to Miss Universe. The current Miss Saint Lucia 2023 is Earlyca Frederick of Choiseul, who represented Saint Lucia at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador on November 18, 2023.
