Easher Parker is a beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Turks and Caicos 2011 on June 8, 2011, at the Regent Palms Hotel in Grace Bay. [1]

She represented Turks and Caicos Islands in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 12, 2011. [2] She was unplaced.

Michael Misick

Michael Eugene Misick is the former chief minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands from 15 August 2003 to 9 August 2006 and was the first Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands from 9 August 2006 to 23 March 2009. Misick is a member of the liberal Progressive National Party (PNP), and became chief minister when his party, after eight years as the opposition party, gained two parliamentary seats in by-elections. In addition to being premier, he was also the minister for Civil Aviation, Commerce and Development, Planning, District Administration, Broadcasting Commission, Tourist Board, Turks and Caicos Investment Agency, and Tourism. Several other members of Misick's family have been politicians in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and important leaders in the PNP. Washington Misick, his brother, is a former Chief Minister and currently Minister of Finance, following elections in November 2012, in which the PNP returned to power.

Miss World 2004 54th edition of the Miss World pageant

Miss World 2004, the 54th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 4 December 2004 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. The 2004 pageant marks the second straight year that Sanya played host of the pageant. Rosanna Davison of Ireland crowned her successor María Julia Mantilla of Peru. 107 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown marking at that time, the biggest turnout in the pageant's 54-year history. That record was held until Miss World 2008 where 109 nations sent representatives.

Miss World 1989

Miss World 1989, the 39th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 22 November 1989 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. 78 contestants took part in the pageant. It was also the first time the Soviet Union has sent a contestant in any major pageant. The winner was Aneta Kręglicka of Poland, who was the first Eastern European person to win the competition. She was crowned by Miss World 1988, Linda Pétursdóttir of Iceland.

Miss World 1982

Miss World 1982, the 32nd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 November 1982 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. The winner was Mariasela Álvarez from the Dominican Republic. She was crowned by Miss World 1981, Pilín León of Venezuela. The first and second runners-up were Sari Kaarina Aspholm from Finland and Della Dolan from the United Kingdom who were semi-finalists in Miss Universe 1982 four months before.

Miss Universe 2009 58th Miss Universe competition, beauty pageant edition

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 August at the Imperial Ballroom in Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas. Stefanía Fernández of Venezuela was crowned by our compatriot Dayana Mendoza, at the end of the event, marking the first time in Miss Universe history that a country has won back-to-back titles.

Miss Earth 2009, the 9th edition of Miss Earth pageant, was held on 22 November 2009 at the Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center in Boracay, Malay, Aklan, Philippines. Karla Henry of Philippines crowned her successor Larissa Ramos of Brazil at the end of the event.

Miss Universe 2011

Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held on 12 September 2011 at Credicard Hall, São Paulo, Brazil. Leila Lopes of Angola was crowned at the end of the event by her predecessor Ximena Navarrete of Mexico. She became the first woman from Angola, and the fourth woman from Africa to win the title after South Africa in 1978, Namibia in 1992 and Botswana in 1999. Contestants from 89 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006. This marks the most recent edition, as of 2020, that any country has posted its first national win at Miss Universe.

2012 Turks and Caicos Islands general election

General elections were held in Turks and Caicos Islands on 9 November 2012. The PNP won the election, winning eight seats with the PDM winning seven. The PNP won most of its seats by narrow margins over the PDM, while the PDM won its seats by wide margins over the PNP, with the result that despite winning fewer seats and thereby losing the election, the PDM garnered more overall votes nationwide.

Sharlene Linette Cartwright-Robinson JP is a Turks and Caicos Islands politician and lawyer who is the Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands. She is the territory's first female premier. She was also the first woman to become first, deputy head, and then, head of the People's Democratic Movement (PDM).

Josephine Olivia Connolly is a businesswoman and an elected member of the Turks and Caicos islands House of Assembly. In December 2016 she won her all island seat for the second time and was appointed Minister Of Education, Youth, Sports and Library Services.

Shanice R. Williams is an Turks & Caicos Islander TV Host, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Turks and Caicos 2014 and represented the Islands at the Miss Universe 2014 Pageant.

Miss Universe 2015

Miss Universe 2015, the 64th Miss Universe pageant, was held on December 20, 2015 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Paulina Vega of Colombia crowned her successor Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines at the end of the event. After 42 years, this is the third time the Philippines won Miss Universe, after Margarita Moran in 1973. 80 contestants competed for the crown.

Rhondalee Braithwaite-Knowles, OBE is an attorney from the Turks and Caicos Islands who is the first island native to serve as the Attorney General of the British Overseas Territory. She was appointed in 2014, after a career as a teacher and Crown Counsel.

The Turks and Caicos Regiment is the home defence unit of the British Overseas Territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It is a single territorial infantry battalion of the British Armed Forces, formed in 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic in the Turks and Caicos Islands is part of the ongoing global viral pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which was confirmed to have reached the British Overseas Territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands on 23 March 2020, and the first death occurred on 5 April. On 12 May, all cases were declared resolved, but on 20 June, new cases had been discovered.
