Matthew Hauser (born 3 April 1998) is an Australian triathlete. [2] In 2021, he competed in the men's triathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. [3] He also competed in the mixed relay event.
In 2018, he won the gold medal in the mixed relay event at the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia. He also finished in 4th place in the men's triathlon. [4] He won a bronze medal in the men's triathlon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. [5]
Hauser also competes in Super League Triathlon racing. [6]
Hauser competed at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games where he finished third in the individual event and was also part of the Bronze medal winning Mixed Relay team, alongside Sophie Linn, Jacob Birtwistle and Natalie Van Coevorden. [5]
At Super League Triathlon London 2022 Hauser was wrongly identified as Jamie Riddle and penalised for false starting, resulting in a time penalty. However, he was able to recover from the penalty and finish the event in 2nd place. [7] At SLT Munich, the following week, Hauser took first place ahead of Hayden Wilde, and Vasco Vilaca, putting him in first place in the overall Championship standings heading into the 3rd event. [8] After crashes in Malibu and Toulouse saw Hauser drop out of the top spot, he was able to take the win at the series finale in NEOM and secure second place in the series overall. [9]
Triathlon had its Summer Olympics debut at the 2000 Games, in Sydney, when men's and women's individual events were first held, and has been contested since then. In 2021, at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics a mixed team relay event was held for the first time. The sport, and its Olympic events, are governed by the International Triathlon Union, known since 2019 as World Triathlon.
Triathlon is one of the sports at the quadrennial Commonwealth Games competition. It was first granted Commonwealth Games sport status in 2002, and has been held in each edition since, except in Delhi 2010 Games due to the lack of suitable venue for the swimming leg in Delhi. Until 2022, it was a core sport which had to be included in each competition's sporting programme. Para-triathlon was first included as an optional sport in the Gold Coast 2018 games. The next appearance of the sport will take place in the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Australia

Miriam Casillas García is a Spanish triathlete. She competed in the women's event at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2021, she competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She also competed in the mixed relay event.
Jessica Learmonth is a British triathlete. Learmonth is a European, Commonwealth, Olympic and World Triathlon Series medal winner based in Leeds, England where she trains at the Leeds Triathlon Centre. She won the European Triathlon Championship in 2017 and took silver in 2018. She competed in the women's event and the mixed relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning silver medals in both disciplines. Learmonth won silver in the 2019 World Triathlon Series.
Georgia Taylor-Brown is an English professional triathlete. Having won bronze in the 2018 and 2019 World Triathlon Series, Taylor Brown won the one-off sprint triathlon race in Hamburg that constituted the 2020 World Triathlon Championship, becoming the fifth British woman to become world champion.

She competed in the women's event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. and has achieved several medals in International Triathlon Union (ITU) and European Triathlon Union (ETU) Championships. Sophie Coldwell is based in Loughborough, England. On the 26th June 2022, she won her 1st major medal when helping Team GB to Silver in the mixed team relay. She finished in third place in the 2022 Super League Triathlon Championship Series.
Hayden Wilde is a New Zealand professional triathlete. He was the silver medalist at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and the bronze medallist at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, the silver medalist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the winner of the 2021 XTERRA World Championships. He finished second in the 2021 Super League Triathlon Championship Series, having taken the win at the SLT London race. Wilde won the 2022 Super League Triathlon Championship Series, having been victorious in 3 of the 5 series races.
Alexander Amos Yee is a British professional triathlete and distance runner. He won the gold medal in the Men's Triathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the silver medal in the same event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the gold medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and the bronze medal in the same event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With two golds, one silver, and one bronze medal, Yee is the most successful triathlete in Olympic history.
Kenji Nener is a Japanese triathlete. He competed in the men's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also competed in the mixed relay event. Nener was born in Australia to an Australian father and a Japanese mother. He initially represented his country of birth, but switched allegiances when he was granted Japanese citizenship in 2021. Nener also competes in Super League Triathlon races. Nener's biggest success in Super League racing came in 2022, when he finished 3rd at SLT Toulouse, Super League's first ever event in France.

The mixed relay triathlon was part of the Triathlon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games program. The competition was held on 31 July 2022 at Sutton Park, near Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham. This was to be the third time the event had been held at the Commonwealth Games.
