Maynsky District (Russian : Ма́йнский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [3] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the central and northern parts of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,306 square kilometers (890 sq mi). [4] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Mayna. [1] Population: 25,826 (2010 Census); [5] 30,626 (2002 Census); [8] 32,642 (1989 Census). Russian is an East Slavic language, which is official in the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as being widely used throughout Eastern Europe, the Baltic states, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
