Racing career

Driving career

Villarreal competed in the Allison Legacy Series and began in asphalt, but later made a transition to dirt track racing as a cost saving measure. In 2019, he competed in pro late model racing. In 2020, he drove for his own team, MAV Motorsports (standing for his initials). [1]

On February 2, 2023, G2G Racing owner Tim Viens stated in an interview with TobyChristie.com that Villarreal would run at least 7 races with the team during the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, beginning at Circuit of the Americas. At the time, Villarreal and ARCA driver Dale Quarterley were both scheduled to make their Truck Series debuts for G2G in the race at COTA, with one of them in the No. 46 and the other in the No. 47. [2] However, the team would only end up fielding one truck at COTA, the No. 46, with Quarterley driving and Villarreal's debut was postponed to the race at Martinsville, [3] where he would finish 24th. Villarreal would run another race with G2G at Nashville, finishing 35th. [4]

He later competed 2 races for Reaume Brothers Racing. [5] [6] [7]

In 2024, Villarreal returned to the Truck Series part-time again driving the No. 20 Chevrolet for Young's Motorsports. His first race of the year was at his home track of Texas Motor Speedway. [8] [9] He was involved in a crash and went out of the race and finished 33rd. He made another start in that truck at Charlotte and finished 29th. [10]

Crew chiefing career

When G2G Racing fielded their part-time second truck, the No. 47, in the spring Truck Series race at Kansas in 2023, Villarreal crew chiefed it in that race. The truck was driven by G2G team owner Tim Viens who finished 36th (last place) in the race. [11]
