Patrick Charles Staropoli (born November 10, 1989) is an American retina surgeon and professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 24 Toyota GR Supra for Sam Hunt Racing, part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 84 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Cook Racing Technologies, part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 25 Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsports and the No. 17 Camry for CRT.

Racing career

A Jeff Gordon fan as a child, [1] Staropoli began kart racing at the age of 13 with the support of his father Nick, a mechanic who raced at the defunct Hialeah Speedway. [2] Moving through series, he started late model racing in 2010. [3]

In 2013, he won the Peak Stock Car Dream Challenge, a reality television program in which the winner joined Michael Waltrip Racing's driver development program. [4] Along with runner-up Chase Briscoe and Logan Ruffin, Staropoli raced for Bill McAnally Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, [5] finishing fifth in his debut at Spokane County Raceway. [6] The following season, he won his first race at Irwindale Speedway. [7]

In 2016, Staropoli joined Young's Motorsports and SS-Green Light Racing for his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Homestead–Miami Speedway. [1] He finished 31st after being involved in three incidents, including two spins, in the race. [8]

On March 3, 2025, it was announced that Staropoli will make select starts in the ARCA Menards Series for Venturini Motorsports, beginning at Phoenix Raceway. [9] [10] [11] [12] On March 19, it was announced that Staropoli would make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut, driving the No. 24 for Sam Hunt Racing at Martinsville. [13] [14] [15] On March 24, it was reported that Staropoli would return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Cook Racing Technologies and would also drive for them in ARCA starting at the Tide 150. Medical career

After graduating summa cum laude from Harvard University in 2012, Staropoli attended the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine. He graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from the Miller School of Medicine in May 2017, and entered a residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the Miller School in June 2018. [3] [2]
