Treyten Lapcevich (born April 6, 2004) [1] is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Canada Series, driving the No. 20 Chevrolet Camaro. He is the 2023 NASCAR Pinty's Series champion.

Personal life

Treyten’s older brother, Cayden was the 2016 Pinty’s Series champion. [2] Treyten’s father, Jeff was also a driver in both the CASCAR Super Series, CASCAR East, CASCAR West and NASCAR Pinty's Series. Jeff also raced in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series. [3]

Racing career

Lapevich made his Pinty’s Series debut at Sunset Speedway in 2020 as a substitute for Alex Tagliani in the No. 18 car. He would finish 2nd in his debut. He would also run the second race at Sunset that season.

He would move to the No. 20 full time in 2021. He would score 7 Top 10s along with 5 Top 5s. His best finish of the season would come at the first race of three at Delaware Speedway with a 2nd-place finish. He would earn his first career win in 2022 at Sunset Speedway in the NTN Ultimate Bearings 250. [4] He would start 2nd and lead two laps. He would win again at Ohsweken Speedway [5] after passing his teammate Stewart Friesen in Turn 3 on the final lap. Lapevich took the lead on Lap 49 and would lead for the rest of the race. Lapevich would score a career high with 10 Tops 10s and 7 Top 5s in 2022.

In 2023, he won the season opener for the second year in a row at Sunset Speedway. [6] He would win again for the second race in a row, this time at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. He was running 2nd on the final lap before making contact with Marc-Antoine Camirand. [7]

Cayden Lapcevich is a former NASCAR Pinty's Series driver who competed from 2015 to 2017. During his career, Lapcevich won the 2016 NASCAR Pinty's Series championship with three wins and was the "youngest champion ever in Canadian professional auto racing". During the 2016 season, Lapevich was named the Jostens Rookie of the Year. After winning three additional races in his final Pinty's season, Lapcevich was awarded the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame Rising Star Award in 2017. Outside of competing, Lapcevich was a crew chief for Andrew Ranger in 2022. Lapcevich is currently the crew chief for the No. 55 car for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series East.

Sunset Speedway is a NASCAR sanctioned 1/3 mile semi-banked short track motor racing oval, located forty minutes north of Toronto, in the town of Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. Sunset’s weekly Saturday night racing program runs from May to September each year, featuring Junior Late Models, Bone Stocks, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks and Late Models. The 2020 NASCAR Pinty's FanCave Challenge was the fourteenth season of the Pinty's Series, the national stock car racing series in Canada sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the QwickWick 125 at Sunset Speedway on August 15 and concluded with the Pinty's 125 at Jukasa Motor Speedway on September 28.

Michael "Buddy" Kofoid is an American professional dirt track and stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the USAC National Midget Series and POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, driving for Keith Kunz Motorsports. He is the 2021 and 2022 USAC National Midget Series champion. He also competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 51 Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports, and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 15 Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsports. The 2023 NASCAR Pinty's Series was the seventeenth season of the Pinty's Series, the national stock car racing series in Canada sanctioned by NASCAR. The season began with a race at Sunset Speedway on May 13 and concluded with the race at Delaware Speedway on September 24.
