Theodorus Josephus Jan Nabuurs (born 14 February 1965), better known by his stage name Mental Theo is a Dutch record producer and DJ. He has recorded two studio albums: Back Once Again (2005) and Jumpstyle Madness (2007). He also performs in duo with Charly Lownoise. [1]

Career

Mental Theo was born in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. [2] In 2005 his first solo studio album Back Once Again was released. The album peaked at number 61 on the Dutch albums chart. [3] In 2006 Mental Theo re-recorded "Boten Anna" by Basshunter and it was released under the name "Now You're Gone" and alias Bazzheadz. [4] [5] The single charted at number 18 on the Danish singles chart. [6] Initially Basshunter tried to translate "Boten Anna" to English for few times [7] but it was impossible to translate so in 2007 he made his version of "Now You're Gone" featuring DJ Mental Theo. [8] Single was released on 29 December 2007. [9] It was the initial release for Hard2Beat Records label (later Dance Nation). [10] The single charted at number 1 in the United Kingdom, where it stayed at the top for five weeks. [11] It was the first Swedish song at number one on British list since "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. [7] It sold an excess 667,000 copies in the United Kingdom [12] and was certified platinum. [13] It also charted on UK Top 100 Songs of the Decade. [14] "Now You're Gone" also stayed at the top for five weeks in Ireland, made it to number 2 on the Swedish chart, [15] and number 3 in New Zealand (single was certified platinum [16] ). [17] On the French singles chart, "Now You're Gone" peaked at number 6. [18] "Now You're Gone" also charted at number 4 on the European Hot 100 Singles. [19] His 2007 second solo studio album Jumpstyle Madness charted at number 51 on the Dutch albums chart. [20] The next single "Say You'll Stay" with Bazzheadz alias was released in 2008 and reached number 21 on the Dutch singles chart. [21]

"Please Don't Go" is a song recorded by American disco and funk band KC and the Sunshine Band and released in 1979 as the second single from their sixth album, Do You Wanna Go Party (1979). Originally written in the key of D flat, the song was the band's first love ballad. In the song, the subject pleads for a second chance. Shortly after the song's one-week run at number one, the group broke up and Harry Wayne Casey went solo. The song was a number-one hit on the Australian ARIA Charts, their sixth and final number-one hit in Canada on the RPM national chart as well as their fifth and final number-one hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. "I Promised Myself" is a song written and originally performed by English singer Nick Kamen. Originally released on his album Move Until We Fly (1990), it was released as a single in the same year and, as a remix in 2004. The original version achieved success in Europe, including Austria and Sweden where it topped the charts. It has been covered multiple times by artists such as Dead or Alive, A-Teens and Basshunter.

"Boten Anna" is a song by Swedish musician Basshunter, from his first studio album, LOL. Following the single's release in 2006, Basshunter gained popularity in his native Sweden, as well as Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Poland and the Netherlands. Basshunter, a Swedish singer, record producer and DJ, has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, 28 singles, five promotional singles and seven remixes. The Bassmachine, Basshunter's debut studio album, was released by Alex Music on 25 August 2004. In April 2006, he signed his first contract with Extensive Music and Warner Music Sweden. His single "Boten Anna" charted at number one on the Danish singles chart, where it stayed for fourteen weeks; it was certified triple platinum by IFPI Danmark. "Boten Anna" also reached number one in the Swedish singles chart and was certified platinum by IFPI Sverige. His second studio album LOL, released on 28 August 2006, charted in the top five in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The album was certified platinum by IFPI Finland and double platinum by IFPI Danmark. The following is the discography of Dutch music producer and DJ Afrojack. His song "Take Over Control", which features Dutch singer Eva Simons, charted in 10 different countries. He released his debut EP Lost & Found on December 22, 2010. In 2011, he was featured on Pitbull's number 1 hit single "Give Me Everything" along with Ne-Yo and Nayer. Joel Corry is an English DJ, producer and television personality. He came to prominence in 2019 with the release of his single "Sorry", featuring vocals from Hayley May, which reached number six in the UK Singles Chart. In 2020, Corry released the singles "Lonely" and "Head & Heart". The latter, which features MNEK on vocals, spent six weeks at number one in the UK Singles Chart and also became Corry's first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100. Corry stated that he was influenced by UK garage growing up, and that it played a "huge role in his development as a DJ and a producer".
