The Military Academy of the Bolivarian Navy (in Spanish Academia Militar de la Armada Bolivariana), is an academy to train future officers of the Bolivarian Navy of Venezuela. Established in 1811, it is Venezuela's and America's oldest existing naval academy. At the end of training, the successful naval cadet graduates as an Officer of the Navy, and is commissioned to the military rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.

The mission of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Navy is:

To train naval cadets through a comprehensive process, with solid leadership principles, ethics, morals, sense of responsibility and relevance, optimal mental and physical conditions, educating in naval scenarios through the geo-strategic domain of computer systems and high technology, allowing to obtain a professional profile upon his or her graduation to serve as an Officer of the Navy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, including in the National Fleet and the Marine Corps. It is envisioned thereforce as a center of naval officer training with higher moral and ethnical values, with a process of quality and excellence that is flexible enough to adapt and adjust to the advances of the naval sector, projecting itself as the best naval academy in all of Latin America. Officer Cadet is a rank held by military cadets during their training to become commissioned officers. The Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army, is an academy to train members of the officer corps of the National Army of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. It is also the oldest military academy in the country and one of the oldest in Latin America, having been founded on September 2, 1810.

The Military Academy of Troop Officers Commander in Chief Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, is a military academy to train officers of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela within basic command echelons. It is also one of the two youngest component academies of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, opened on June 1, 2012. Unlike the rest of the academies, the TOMC is a joint service academy, only serving experienced corporals and junior ranked NCOs with a potential to become officers of the Armed Forces. Also, up until 2019 it had a three year study term instead of the four of the other academies.

Maribel Parra de Mestre

Maribel Parra de Mestre is a Venezuelan naval officer and oil company executive. She graduated 11th in her class from the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Navy and her naval career included experience in the field of logistics, as an aide to the First Lady of Venezuela and deputy commander of cadets at the navy academy. In 2011 she became the first woman from Zulia to reach the rank of rear admiral and in 2014 was the first Venezuelan woman to be promoted to the rank of vice admiral. A supporter of former president Hugo Chávez, she was appointed by Chavez's successor Nicolás Maduro as executive vice president of the country's state-owned oil company PDVSA in 2017. This was interpreted by some as a takeover of the oil sector by the military.
