Minden Township is a civil township of Sanilac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 633 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93 km2), of which 36.1 square miles (93 km2) is land and 0.03% is water. Two rivers rise within the township:
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 633 people, 237 households, and 167 families residing in the township. The population density was 17.5 per square mile (6.8/km2). There were 274 housing units at an average density of 7.6 per square mile (2.9/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 95.10% White, 3.48% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.63% of the population.
There were 237 households, out of which 32.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.0% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.5% were non-families. 26.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the township the population was spread out, with 28.3% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.0 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $30,227, and the median income for a family was $38,500. Males had a median income of $31,029 versus $20,066 for females.
