Mirza Shahzad Akbar is a Pakistani politician and barrister who served as Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Interior and Accountability in the capacity of a Federal Minister in Cabinet, [1] in office from August 2020. Before his appointment as Advisor to Prime Minister,Akbar served in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as a deputy prosecutor. [2] Shahzad Akbar resigns as PM's adviser on accountability and interior.
He completed his graduation in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London,Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Newcastle.
Mirza Shahzad Akbar is co-founder of Foundation for Fundamental Rights,a non-governmental organization with focus on fundamental rights enshrined in Constitution of Pakistan. [3] After serving as consultant for the U.S. Agency of International Development,He was declared persona non grata by United States once he became one of the leading attorneys in Pakistan who were dealing with litigations against drone strikes on civilians by United States in Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA). Sahibzada Iskander Ali Mirza,CIE,OBE was a Pakistani politician,statesman and military general who served as the Dominion of Pakistan's fourth and last governor-general of Pakistan from 1955 to 1956,and then as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan's first president from 1956 to 1958.

President Asif Ali Zardari took the oath of office. The new Cabinet composition has been described as a "Lean",with its composition being influenced by the need of the new government to respond quickly to the current economic crisis. Ahad Khan Cheema is a retired Pakistani bureaucrat who is the current Federal Minister of Economic Affairs,appointed on 11 March 2024. Previously,he has served as a chief executive officer (CEO) of the Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Company and director-general of the Lahore Development Authority. In 2018,the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Cheema on charges related to irregularities in the Ashiana Housing Scheme project during his time as chairman of the LDA. The investigation also involved former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's principal secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad and Shehbaz Sharif. Cheema was released on bail in 2021 after spending three years in jail and was acquitted of all charges by the NAB in 2023. He took retirement from civil service in January 2023.
