Miss France National beauty pageant competition in France, founded in 1920

Miss France is a French national beauty pageant, held annually in December. The competition was first held in 1920, and has been organized continuously since 1947. The trademark for the pageant is owned by the company Miss France SAS, and is a subsidiary of Endemol Shine France. The competition is aired on TF1.

Miss Europe is a beauty pageant for European women from all over Europe. It was established in February 1927 by Fanamet, the European distributor of Paramount, as a one-off event where the winner was to star in a film directed by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. After the initial twelve-person jury couldn't decide between 10 contestants, a runoff election was held where Murnau chose the winner. Murnau ended up choosing Štefica Vidačić of Yugoslavia as the winner and the first ever Miss Europe. Miss Europe was later re-established in December 1928 by French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874–1946), who also created, in 1920, what by 1927 had become the Miss France pageant. Miss Europe, under de Waleffe, was first held at the Paris Opera with participants from 18 countries. The first contest under de Waleffe did not occur until February 1929.

Miss Universe 1989

Miss Universe 1989, the 38th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 May 1989 at the Fiesta Americana Condesa Hotel in Cancún, Mexico. Angela Visser of the Netherlands was crowned by Porntip Nakhirunkanok of Thailand. Seventy-six contestants competed in this year.

Miss Universe 1998 47th Miss Universe pageant

Miss Universe 1998, the 47th Miss Universe pageant, was held on May 12, 1998 at the Stan Sheriff Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. Wendy Fitzwilliam of Trinidad and Tobago was crowned by Brook Lee of the US at the end of the event. This marked the only second time that Trinidad and Tobago has won Miss Universe. 81 contestants competed in this year.

Miss Universe 1991, the 40th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held on May 17, 1991 at the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Lupita Jones of Mexico crowned by Mona Grudt of Norway. Seventy-three contestants competed in the 1991 Miss Universe pageant.

Miss World 1958 Beauty pageant edition

Miss World 1958, the 8th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 13 October 1958 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Penelope Anne Coelen of South Africa was crowned by Marita Lindahl of Finland at the end of the pageant. She became the second woman from Africa to win the title after Egypt in 1954.

Miss World 1959 Beauty pageant edition

Miss World 1959, the 9th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 10 November 1959 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom and was the first to be televised by the BBC. 37 contestants competed for the Miss World. The winner was Corine Rottschäfer, representing Holland. She was crowned by The Chief Barker of the Variety Club of Great Britain.

Miss International 1979

Miss International 1979, the 19th Miss International pageant, was held on November 12, 1979 at the Mielparque in Tokyo, Japan. The then–15-year-old Mimilanie "Melanie" Marquez earned Philippines' third Miss International crown.

Miss Europe 2002, was the 55th edition of the Miss Europe pageant and the 44th & final edition under the Mondial Events Organization. After this edition Mr. Roger Zeigler sold the pageant to Endemol France. This years pageant was held at the Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Center in Beirut, Lebanon on 28 December 2002. Svetlana Koroleva, Miss Russia, was crowned Miss Europe 2002 by outgoing titleholder Elodie Gossuin of France.

Miss International 1969

Miss International 1969, the 9th Miss International pageant, was held on September 13, 1969 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan for the second time. 48 contestants competed for the pageant. Finally, Valerie Holmes from Great Britain was crowned as Miss International 1969 by outgoing titleholder, Maria Carvalho from Brazil.

Christl Spazier of Austria, was crowned Miss Europe 1959 by out going titleholder Johanna "Hanni" Ehrenstrasser of Austria. This was the 4th back to back win in the pageant's history.

Miss Europe 1969

Miss Europe 1969 was the 32nd edition of the Miss Europe pageant and the 21st edition under the Mondial Events Organization. It was held at the Rabat Hilton Hotel in Rabat, Morocco on May 18, 1969. Saša Zajc of Yugoslavia, was crowned Miss Europe 1969 by Paquita Torres Pérez of Spain, Miss Europe 1967. Leena Marketta Brusiin of Finland was originally supposed to crown the winner at the end of the event, but could attend the pageant due to a car accident that happened before the pageant.

Miss Europe 1973 was the 36th edition of the Miss Europe pageant and the 25th edition under the Mondial Events Organization. It was held in Kitzbühel, Austria on January 13, 1974. Anna "Anke" Maria Groot of Holland, was crowned Miss Europe 1973 by outgoing titleholder Monika Sarp of Germany.
