Mississippi Highway 350 (MS 350) is a highway in extreme northern Mississippi. Its western terminus is at MS 2 near Corinth. The road travels near the Tennessee state line to its eastern terminus at MS 25. The route was designated in 1981, and no significant changes have been made since.

Route description

MS 350 is located in northeastern Alcorn and northern Tishomingo counties. [2] In 2012, Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) calculated as many as 2,900 vehicles traveling east of County Road 159 (CR 159), and as few as 1,500 vehicles traveling east of CR 363. [3] All of the road is maintained by MDOT. [1] MS 350 is legally defined in Mississippi Code § 65-3-3. [4]

MS 350 starts at a T-intersection with MS 2 and travels eastward. The route goes through small groups of trees, and turns northeast east of CR 154. The road enters a larger forest and curves back east two miles (3.2 km) later. There, MS 350 was less than 1,000 feet (300 m) from the Tennessee state line. The two-lane road intersects a few roads leading to the state border, such as Kendrick Road (CR 100), which becomes Tennessee State Route 142 (SR 142) at the state line. MS 350 soon enters Tishomingo County, curving around some hills. It remains parallel from the state line, until at CR 375, where it starts to travel southeast. The route temporarily travels east at CR 355, before heading southeast again. MS 350 ends about one mile (1.6 km), at a T-intersection with MS 25. [5]

History

In 1974, a paved road was built from MS 2 to the Alcorn–Tishomingo county line. [6] [7] It was later extended to MS 25 in 1981, and was designated as MS 350 in the same year. [8] [9] No significant changes have been made to the route since. [2] [9]

The route intersects many county routes as it travels eastward to MS 371, its eastern terminus. The route was designated in 1957, and became fully paved by 1971.

The road travels through Altitude and ends at MS 365 in Cairo. The other segment begins in Holcut and travels eastward to its terminus at MS 25 at Midway. The route was designated in 1950, from a former segment of MS 30 between MS 365 and MS 25. The route was extended southwestwards to MS 30 around 1960, and the highway was completely paved by 1984. The section of MS 364 near the Tennessee–Tombigbee Waterway were removed by the same year, and another section from MS 365 to the waterway was removed ten years later.

Mississippi Highway 2 is a designation for two highways in northern Mississippi. The westernmost segment starts at MS 5 in Hickory Flat, and ends at MS 15 and MS 368 in Blue Mountain. The eastern segment starts at MS 4 near Ripley and it travels northeastwards towards Corinth. The route becomes concurrent with U.S. Route 72 and US 45 in Corinth, and ends at the Tennessee state line. The road continues as Tennessee State Route 22. The route was designated around 1932, from the state line near Mount Pleasant to the state line near Corinth. The section west of Corinth became a part of US 72 by 1935, and the route was extended southwestwards to Hickory Flat by 1958.

Mississippi Highway 450 is a highway in western Mississippi. Its western terminus is at MS 1 south of Benoit. The route travels east to its eastern terminus at U.S. Route 61 and US 278. It was designated in 1956, starting at MS 1 south of Scott, and ending at Choctaw. Starting in 1962, the section near Stringtown was rerouted significantly. The last realignment was in 1974, where the section near Stringtown was straightened, and US 61 moved east of Choctaw.

Mississippi Highway 306 is a state highway in northern Mississippi. The route starts at U.S. Route 51 in Coldwater, and it travels eastward to an interchange at Interstate 55 (I-55) on the northern edge of the town. The road continues eastward across northern Tate County and ends at MS 305 near Independence. MS 306 was designated in 1952, and it was constructed in 1953 from US 51 to MS 305. The route was paved in asphalt by 1956, and an interchange was built at I-55 by 1967.

Mississippi Highway 454 is a state highway in western Mississippi. MS 454 starts at U.S. Highway 82 and US 278. It travels eastward to its eastern terminus at MS 1. The road that became MS 454 was constructed in 1940 and opened the next year. MS 454 was designated in 1953, and has not changed significantly since.

Mississippi Highway 612 is a highway in southeastern Mississippi. The route starts at MS 613, southwest of Lucedale. It travels southeastward through George County, crossing over Escatawpa River. The route ends at the Alabama state line, and County Road 7 continues into Mobile County. MS 612 was designated in 1966, and no significant changes have been made to the route since.

Mississippi Highway 473 is a short highway in central Mississippi. Its southern terminus is at the Hinds–Copiah county line. The route travels north to Terry, and turns west. MS 473 enters Terry, and ends at Interstate 55 (I-55) and U.S. Route 51. The route was designated in 1957, from MS 27 to US 51. MS 473 was removed from the state highway system in 1967. It was restored into the system in 1995, from the county line to I-55/US 51.

Mississippi Highway 444 (MS 444) is a short highway in western Mississippi. Its western terminus is at MS 1, and travels eastward through six miles (9.7 km) of farmland. The route enters Duncan, and ends at U.S. Route 61 (US 61) and US 278, its eastern terminus. MS 444 was designated in 1958, and became paved two years later.

Mississippi Highway 604 (MS 604) is a 5.071-mile-long (8.161 km) state highway on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 90 (US 90). MS 604 travels northward through Pearlington to its northern terminus at MS 607. The route was designated in 1950, after US 90 was realigned off of it in 1939 onto a new road built in 1936.

Mississippi Highway 792 is a road in eastern Mississippi. It starts at U.S. Route 45, and travels east. Near halfway of the route, SR 792 turns south and continues to its eastern terminus at MS 388. The highway was designated in 1998, and no major changes have been made since.

Mississippi Highway 773 is a short highway in northern Mississippi. The route starts at MS 2, where it travels northwestward. MS 773 soon ends at County Road 500, and continues as CR 549. MS 773 was designated on May 27, 2004, and has not changed significantly since.

Mississippi Highway 366 is a short highway in northeastern Mississippi. The road starts at MS 25 in Belmont, and travels southeastward through Golden to the Alabama state border. The route was created in 1958, and hasn't changed significantly since.

Mississippi Highway 41 (MS 41) is a state highway in northeastern Mississippi. The route starts at U.S. Route 45 and US 278 north of Wren and travels westwards. It then intersects US 45 Alt. east of Okolona. The road enters Okolona, and intersects MS 32 and MS 245. MS 41 then turns northwest and travels toward Pontotoc. Once inside the city, the route turns north at MS 15 and travels through downtown Pontotoc. MS 41 ends at its intersection with MS 9 and MS 338. The route that became MS 41 was first used as an Indian trail. The route was designated by 1932 from Amory to Pontotoc, and it was truncated from Amory to US 45 by 1955. The entirety of MS 41 was paved by 1958.

Mississippi Highway 367 is a short state highway located in northeastern Mississippi. The route starts at MS 356 near Jacinto and travels northeastward. MS 367 intersects several county roads before ending at the Alcorn–Tishomingo county line. The route was designated around 1965, from a former routing of MS 356. The highway was paved by 1974, and the section in Tishomingo County was decommissioned by 1998.

Mississippi Highway 438 is a state highway in western Mississippi. The route starts at MS 1 in Wayside and travels eastward. The road travels through farmland and intersects U.S. Route 61 and its old alignment near Arcola. MS 438 continues eastward and ends at Sunflower River Road and Kinlock Road on the Washington–Sunflower county line near Kinlock. The route was constructed around 1950, connecting from MS 1 to US 61. The route was extended to the Washington–Sunflower county line by 1958, and to US 49W in Inverness by 1960. The section east of the county line was removed from the route by 1974.

Mississippi Highway 436 is a state highway in western Mississippi. The route starts at Eastside Lake Washington Road in Glen Allan and travels eastward. The road intersects MS 1 in Hampton and turns northeastward. It ends near Percy at U.S. Route 61. MS 436 was designated in 1957, along a road from US 61 to a point near the Washington–Sharkey county line. The route was extended westward to Glen Allan along a state-maintained road in 1958, and also eastward to Belzoni via a county road in 1967. The route east of US 61 was decommissioned by 1967.

Mississippi Highway 504 is a state highway in central Mississippi. The route starts at MS 15 south of Newton and travels southeastward. The road turns east at a county road near Garlandville and travels to its eastern terminus at MS 503 in the unincorporated area of Hero. The route was designated around 1956, from MS 15 to MS 503, and has not changed significantly since.

Mississippi Highway 923 is a state highway in southeastern Amite County, Mississippi, United States. The route starts at Louisiana Highway 1053 on the Louisiana–Mississippi state border and begins traveling northwest. MS 923 ends at MS 584 and continues as P.P. Wilson Road. The route was designated in 1963, after the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) took over maintenance of the road.
