Hon. (Amb) Mohamed Maalim Mohamud' is a Kenyan politician who is the current Senator for Mandera County. He is also the Chairman of the Senate Finance and Budget Committee. From 2008 - 2011, he was the Assistant Minister (Electricity and Renewable Energy) in the Ministry of Energy. [1] He belongs to the Jubilee Party.

Mohamud is a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya, [2] a registered engineer with the Engineers’ Registration Board of Kenya, and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds a Bachelor of Science Kenya.

He then moved to Eldas constituency which was curved from Wajir West. Keynan served as Eldas MP in the 11th Parliament and he was then re-elected to serve the same constituency in 12th parliament. He represented the Orange Democratic Movement until 2017 when he switched to the Jubilee Party.

He served as the Prime Minister of Somalia from June 2011 to October 2012, and briefly afterwards as an MP in the newly formed Federal Parliament. During his time as Premier, Ali is credited with having devised the formal "Roadmap for the End of Transition", a political process that provided clear benchmarks leading toward the establishment of permanent democratic institutions in the country. On 8 January 2014, he was elected the 5th President of Puntland.

On 2 April 2015, gunmen stormed the Garissa University College in Garissa, Kenya, killing 148 people, and injuring 79 or more. Ambassador Dahir Mohamud Gelle is a Somali diplomat and politician. Ambassador Dahir was born in Mogadishu in 1966. Having completed his primary and secondary education in Mogadishu, Dahir earned a Bachelors of Arts in Jurisprudence and Law at Al-Azhar University in Cairo Egypt. He later joined the Institute of Arab Research and Studies for a graduate Diploma in Political Science, and a Master of Arts in Political Science. Dahir has accumulated knowledge from years of practice in the public, private and voluntary sectors. In his service in the public sector, Dahir has served as the Director of Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs, been a member of the Somali Federal Parliament, become twice the Minister for Information. On a one-year term, Dahir led the Daljir Forum for national dialogue as the chairperson. He has been the Somali Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 2015 to 2018. In private sector practice, Dahir served as the Managing Director of Ar-risaala Radio station. Also, he is the founder of the Holy Quran radio station. Between 1995 and 2000, he worked for a charity aimed to alleviate the suffering of the needy people.

The Garowe attack was a bombing of a UN van in Garowe, Puntland, Somalia. Between 7 and 10 people were killed, including the attacker and four UNICEF workers. The Al-Shabaab militant group claimed responsibility for the blast. The Puntland administration subsequently appointed a governmental committee to probe the circumstances surrounding the attack, and apprehended over a dozen suspects.

Mohamed Isse Lacle

Eng. Mohamed Isse Ali, also known as Col. Mohamed Isse Ganaje, is a Somali engineer, Navy commander, and politician. Lacle has extensive experience in naval warfare, electricity and mechanics, politics and diplomacy. He has taught subjects in naval warfare and engineering in the Technical Maritime Intermediate School of the National Somali Navy and served as director from 1981 to 1982. He served in the Somali Navy from 1975 to 1991 and held several commanding positions at his time before the Somali Civil War broke. He holds the rank of naval captain. He currently resides in Garoe, the capital of Puntland.

Mohamud Abdullahi Sheikh Siraji is a Somali politician who was elected from the state of Jubaland as a member of Federal Parliament of Somalia on the 15th of February 2018. Mohamud is the younger brother of the late Minister for Public Works and Reconstruction Abass Abdullahi Sheikh Siraji.

Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud is a Somalian politician and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs for Somalia. Mohamud was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs by Mohamed Hussein Roble, the Prime Minister of Somalia. On November 25, 2020, he was sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. On 20 November, 2021, Mohamud was replaced as Minister of Foreign Affairs with Abdisaid Muse Ali.
