Mohamed Taulan bin Mat Rasul was a Malaysian politician. He has served as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) administration under Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak from 2008 to 2013 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly for Tokai from March 2004 to May 2018 and Bukit Raya from November 1999 to March 2004. He wass a member of Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a component party of Perikatan Nasional (PN),formerly Barisan Alternatif (BA),Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Gagasan Sejahtera (GS) coalitions. [1]
Mohamed Taulan Mat Rasul made his electoral debut in 1995 general election for Pendang parliamentary seat,but lost to BN-UMNO candidate Othman Abdul with majority of 1,933. In 1999 general election,he was elected as Bukit Raya assemblyman with majority of 5,184,defeating BN-UMNO candidate Abdullah Bahari,during at the time is the Reformasi movement.
In 2004 general election,he was elected as Tokai assemblyman with majority of 4,179. In 2008 general election,he was re-elected as Tokai assemblyman and appointed as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council from 2008 to 2013. [2] [3]
After serving 4 terms in Kedah State Legislative Assembly,he was not nominated to contest in 2018 general election.
On 27 January 2025,Mohamed Taulan Mat Rasul died. [4]

Knight Companion of the Order of Loyalty to the Royal House of Kedah (DSDK) –Dato' (2008) [8] Dato' Azimi bin Daim is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Menteris Besar Syed Razak Syed Zain Barakbah and Mahdzir Khalid and Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bandar Baharu from March 2004 to March 2008. He is a member of the Homeland Fighters' Party (PEJUANG) and was a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions and the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the ruling BN coalition. He served as Deputy Permanent Chairman of BERSATU from December 2017 to August 2020.
Mukhriz bin Mahathir is a Malaysian politician and businessman served as the 11th and 13th Menteri Besar of Kedah from May 2013 to February 2016 and again from May 2018 to May 2020,Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak as well as former Minister Mustapa Mohamed from March 2008 to May 2013,Member of Parliament (MP) for Jerlun from March 2008 to May 2013 and again from May 2018 to November 2022 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jitra from May 2018 to August 2023 and for Ayer Hitam from May 2013 to May 2018. He is the third son of Mahathir Mohamad,the 4th,7th and former Prime Minister of Malaysia. He has been the 1st and founding President of the Homeland Fighters Party (PEJUANG) since party foundation in August 2020. He was the 1st and founding Deputy President and State Chairman of Kedah of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) from party foundation in September 2016 to his membership termination in May 2020 and was also the State Chairman of Kedah of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He was also a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. He left UMNO with Mahathir and they founded BERSATU in 2016. Mahathir and his BERSATU memberships were terminated and they founded PEJUANG in 2020. He is one of the two Menteris Besar of Malaysia who represented two different political parties and coalitions.
Azizan bin Abdul Razak was a Malaysian politician who served as the 10th Menteri Besar of the state of Kedah from 2008 to 2013. A member of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),he was the first Chief Minister of Kedah from a party other than the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He held the seat of Sungai Limau in the Kedah state assembly from 2004 until his death in 2013. He was also the state commissioner for PAS in Kedah and a member of the central committee of the national party.

Nawawi bin Haji Ahmad was a Malaysian politician and engineer who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Langkawi from May 2013 to May 2018,Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Menteris Besar Syed Razak Syed Zain Barakbah and Mahdzir Khalid from March 2004 to March 2008 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kuah from March 2004 to May 2013. Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 14th Menteri Besar of Pahang since May 2018 and Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jelai since March 2004. He served as Member of the Pahang State Executive Council (EXCO) from March 2008 to May 2018. Hasni bin Mohammad is a Malaysian politician and engineer who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Simpang Renggam since November 2022 and Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Benut since March 2008. He served as the 18th Menteri Besar of Johor from February 2020 to March 2022,Leader of the Opposition of Johor from June 2018 to February 2020,Member of the Johor State Executive Council (EXCO) from May 2013 to May 2018 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Pontian from March 2004 to March 2008 and Chairman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) from August 2022 to December 2022.
