Kedah State Executive Council

The Kedah State Executive Council is the executive branch of the State Government of Kedah, Malaysia. The Council is composed of the Menteri Besar, the Leader of the council, appointed by the Sultan on the basis that he/she commands the majority support in the Kedah State Legislative Assembly, (half of the number of the members of the assembly). The State Government of Kedah is also assisted by the State Secretary, the State Legal Adviser and the State Financial Officer.

This Council is similar in structure and role to the Cabinet of Malaysia, while being smaller in size. As federal and state responsibilities differ, there are a number of portfolios that differ between the federal and state governments.

Members of the Council are selected and nominated by the Menteri Besar, but appointed by the Sultan. The Council a number of committees; each committees will be chaired by the respective members, will take care of certain state affairs, activities and departments. Members of the Council are always the chair of a committee.

The 14th Perlis State election was held on 9 May 2018. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each.

Dato' Sri Haji Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 14th Menteri Besar of Pahang since May 2018 and Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jelai since March 2004. He served as Member of the Pahang State Executive Council (EXCO) from March 2008 to May 2018. He is a member and State Chairman of Pahang of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has also served as the Vice President of UMNO since March 2023.

Muhammad Jailani bin Khamis is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Rembia since May 2018. He served as Member of the Melaka State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali from November 2021 to March 2023 for the third term, from March 2020 to November 2021 for the second term and under former Chief Minister Adly Zahari from May 2018 to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration in March 2020 for the first term. Nolee Ashilin binti Mohammed Radzi is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administrations under Menteris Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir, Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Saarani Mohamad from May 2013 to May 2018, March to December 2020 and again from December 2020 to November 2022 as well as Member of Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tualang Sekah from March 2008 to November 2022. <span class="mw-page-title-main">2008 Perak state election</span>

The 12th Perak state election was held on 8 March 2008. Polling took place in 59 constituencies throughout the State of Perak, with each electing a state assemblyman to the Perak State Legislative Assembly. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission. The state election was held concurrently with the 2008 Malaysian general election.

Razali Saad is a Malaysian politician, businessman, farmer and entrepreneur who has served as Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli as well as Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Simpang Empat since November 2022. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN coalition. He is the State Committee Member of PN of Perlis and Division Treasurer of PAS of Arau.

Fakhrul Anwar Ismail is a Malaysian politician, businessman, school administrator, computer programmer, data analyst, data and information systems manager who has served as Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bintong since November 2022. He served as Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli from November 2022 to his removal from office in November 2023. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN coalition. He is the Division Information Chief of PAS of Kangar, Member of the State Committee of PAS of Perlis and State Youth Secretary of PAS of Perlis.

Izizam Ibrahim is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli as well as Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Titi Tinggi since November 2022. He is the first Titi Tinggi MLA of Malay ethnicity. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He is the State Treasurer of PN of Perlis, State Deputy Chairman of BERSATU of Perlis and Division Chief of BERSATU of Padang Besar. He is the Acting Division Chief and Division Deputy Chief of BERSATU of Arau, State Information Chief of BERSATU of Perlis and Deputy Information Chief of PN of Arau. Wan Badariah Wan Saad is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as a Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli as well as Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Mata Ayer since November 2022. She is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN coalition. She has served as the Division Committee Member of PAS of Arau since 2019 and Division Information Chief of Dewan Muslimat of PAS of Arau since 2021. She is also presently the only female Perlis EXCO Member.

Mohammad Azmir Azizan is a Malaysian politician and school administrator who has served as Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli as well as Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Santan since November 2022. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN coalition. He is also the State Information Chief of PAS of Perlis, State Youth Chief of PAS of Perlis, Division Deputy Chief of PAS of Padang Besar and Member of the Board of Administrators of school of PAS.

Mohd Azlan bin Helmi is a Malaysian politician, entrepreneur and assistant engineer who has served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tualang Sekah since November 2022. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. Mohamed Taulan bin Mat Rasul is a Malaysian politician. He has served as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) administration under Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak from 2008 to 2013 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly for Tokai from March 2004 to May 2018 and Bukit Raya from November 1999 to March 2004. He is a member of Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of Perikatan Nasional (PN), formerly Barisan Alternatif (BA), Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Gagasan Sejahtera (GS) coalitions.
