The Kedah State Executive Council is the executive branch of the State Government of Kedah, Malaysia. The Council is composed of the Menteri Besar, the Leader of the council, appointed by the Sultan on the basis that he/she commands the majority support in the Kedah State Legislative Assembly, (half of the number of the members of the assembly). The State Government of Kedah is also assisted by the State Secretary, the State Legal Adviser and the State Financial Officer.
This Council is similar in structure and role to the Cabinet of Malaysia, while being smaller in size. As federal and state responsibilities differ, there are a number of portfolios that differ between the federal and state governments.
Members of the Council are selected and nominated by the Menteri Besar, but appointed by the Sultan. The Council a number of committees; each committees will be chaired by the respective members, will take care of certain state affairs, activities and departments. Members of the Council are always the chair of a committee.

The Menteri Besar of Selangor, also referred to as the First Minister of Selangor is the head of government in the Malaysian state of Selangor. The Menteri Besar acts as a majority leader in the Selangor Assembly. According to convention, the Menteri Besar is the leader of the majority party or largest coalition party of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.
The Selangor State Executive Council forms the executive branch of the state government of Selangor, Malaysia. It comprises the Menteri Besar, appointed by the Sultan on the basis that he is likely to command the confidence of the majority of members of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, and a minimum of four up to a maximum of ten members of the State Assembly. Additionally, the State Secretary, State Legal Adviser and State Financial Officer, who are civil servants that serve as exofficio members.

The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support, leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments, and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government. This crisis ended in 2022 and Malaysian political crisis continued in the State of Sabah known as 2023 Kinabalu Move.
Muhammad Jailani bin Khamis is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Malacca State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Rembia since May 2018. He served as Member of the Malacca State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali from November 2021 to March 2023 for the third term, from March 2020 to November 2021 for the second term and under former Chief Minister Adly Zahari from May 2018 to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration in March 2020 for the first term. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. He was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition before leaving UMNO for PAS and of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition before leaving PKR and becoming an independent and supporting the BN coalition for nine months and later joining UMNO. He is also one of the only three Melaka Opposition and PN MLAs alongside State Leader of the Opposition and Bemban MLA Mohd Yadzil Yaakub and Sungai Udang MLA Mohd Aleef Yusof.
Azman bin Nasrudin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Padang Serai since December 2022. He served as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor from May 2020 to August 2023 and in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under former Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir from 2018 to 2020 and Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lunas from May 2013 to August 2023. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN coalition was a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition.
General elections must be held in Malaysia by 17 February 2028. Redistribution and boundary changes for the constituencies are expected to take place by 2026, with the last taking place before the 2018 general election.
The 12th Perak state election was held on 8 March 2008. Polling took place in 59 constituencies throughout the State of Perak, with each electing a state assemblyman to the Perak State Legislative Assembly. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission. The state election was held concurrently with the 2008 Malaysian general election.
Fakhrul Anwar Ismail is a Malaysian politician, businessman, school administrator, computer programmer, data analyst, data and information systems manager who has served as Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bintong since November 2022. He served as Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli from November 2022 to his removal from office in November 2023. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN coalition. He is the Division Information Chief of PAS of Kangar, Member of the State Committee of PAS of Perlis and State Youth Secretary of PAS of Perlis.
The 15th Kedah state election was held on 12 August 2023 to elect the State Assembly members of the 15th Kedah State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the Malaysian state of Kedah.
Leong Yong Kong is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Gurun from March 2008 to May 2018 and Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir and Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah from 2014 to 2016. He is a member of Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), a component party of Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
Mohd Azlan bin Helmi is a Malaysian politician, entrepreneur and assistant engineer who has served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tualang Sekah since November 2022. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. Abu Bakar Hamzah is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Perlis State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli since November 2024 and Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kuala Perlis since November 2022.
