Dato' Wira Othman bin Aziz (born 15 May 1959) is a Malaysian politician. He was the member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the seat of Jerlun,Kedah,from 5 May 2013 to 10 May 2018. He previously served one term in the Kedah State Legislative Assembly from 21 March 2004 to 8 March 2008) and was the chairman of the Kedah Tourism Action Council. [1] He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) in the previous ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
Othman was born in Alor Setar,Kedah. He received his primary education at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Ayer Hitam,Kedah. He continued his secondary education in Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid and later went to University Technology MARA to study a Diploma in Business Administration. After completing his diploma he went to the National University of Malaysia and graduated with Bachelor of Marketing Studies. [2] He subsequently held a number of positions in corporate enterprises. [3]
In the 2004 general election,Othman was elected to the state assembly of Kedah,defeating the incumbent Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) assemblyman Abdul Ghani Ahmad by 860 votes in the seat of Ayer Hitam. [4] In 2005 he was appointed to the Executive Council of the Kedah state government by the incoming Chief Minister Mahdzir Khalid. [3] During this time he also managed the Kedah Football Association. [5] He was a casualty of the Barisan Nasional state government's defeat in the 2008 election,as he lost his seat by 506 votes to his predecessor,Abdul Ghani. [4]
In the 2013 election,Othman ran for the UMNO-held federal seat of Jerlun. Jerlun was being vacated by Mukhriz Mahathir,who was seeking to move to state politics to become Kedah's Chief Minister. Othman defeated Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS)'s Ismail Salleh by 3,270 votes,winning election to the federal parliament. [4]
In the 2018 election,Othman lost to Mukhriz Mahathir,who was back contesting but under the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (PPBM) ticket,in a three-corner fight with Abdul Ghani Ahmad of PAS for the Jerlun parliamentary seat.

Knight Commander of the Glorious Order of the Crown of Kedah (DGMK) –Dato' Wira (2017) [10] Dato' Azimi bin Daim is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Menteris Besar Syed Razak Syed Zain Barakbah and Mahdzir Khalid and Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bandar Baharu from March 2004 to March 2008. He is a member of the Homeland Fighters' Party (PEJUANG) and was a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions and the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the ruling BN coalition. He served as Deputy Permanent Chairman of BERSATU from December 2017 to August 2020.
Dato' Seri Utama Mukhriz bin Tun Dr. Mahathir is a Malaysian politician and businessman served as the 11th and 13th Menteri Besar of Kedah from May 2013 to February 2016 and again from May 2018 to May 2020,Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak as well as former Minister Mustapa Mohamed from March 2008 to May 2013,Member of Parliament (MP) for Jerlun from March 2008 to May 2013 and again from May 2018 to November 2022 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jitra from May 2018 to August 2023 and for Ayer Hitam from May 2013 to May 2018. He is the third son of Mahathir Mohamad,the 4th,7th and former Prime Minister of Malaysia. He has been the 1st and founding President of the Homeland Fighters Party (PEJUANG) since party foundation in August 2020. He was the 1st and founding Deputy President and State Chairman of Kedah of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) from party foundation in September 2016 to his membership termination in May 2020 and was also the State Chairman of Kedah of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He was also a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. He left UMNO with Mahathir and they founded BERSATU in 2016. Mahathir and his BERSATU memberships were terminated and they founded PEJUANG in 2020. He is one of the two Menteris Besar of Malaysia who represented two different political parties and coalitions.
Azizan bin Abdul Razak was a Malaysian politician who served as the 10th Menteri Besar of the state of Kedah from 2008 to 2013. A member of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),he was the first Chief Minister of Kedah from a party other than the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He held the seat of Sungai Limau in the Kedah state assembly from 2004 until his death in 2013. He was also the state commissioner for PAS in Kedah and a member of the central committee of the national party.

Khalid bin Abdul Samad is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Federal Territories in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shah Alam from March 2008 to November 2022. He is a member,Communications Director and State Chairman of Kelantan of the National Trust Party (AMANAH),a component party of the PH coalition and was a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a former component party of the former Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalitions. Before PH and BN formed the federal coalition government in November 2022,they were opposing politically as both of them were in opposing political sides.

He was the Menteri Besar of Kedah from 4 February 2016 to 10 May 2018. He was appointed as Menteri Besar after Mukhriz Mahathir agreed to step down after losing majority support in the state assembly. Ahmad Bashah was sworn in as Menteri Besar of Kedah the day after Mukhriz resigned,on February 4,2016.
