Mohammed Bin Rashid City, also known as MBR City, [1] is a planned mixed-use development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. [2]
In November 2012, the Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced the establishment of what he termed a new "city" within Dubai. The complex was to contain four components: [3]
The drawings showed the allocated land for the development to be bordered by Emirates Road, Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road. The complex would also include Mohammad bin Rashid Gardens and the Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa, and Business Bay developments. [3]
In 2013, Meydan and Sobha began development of District One, a low-density luxury residential estate within MBR City, as the first phase of development. [5] Crystal Lagoons also began construction of a 40-hectare lagoon, the world's largest man-made lagoon in the world. [6]
In 2016, it was announced that the Mall of the World would be relocated away from the city to the Al Suhouf district of Dubai, opposite the Mall of the Emirates. [7]
In 2019, a 7-bedroom villa in District One was sold for AED 90 million (US$24.5 million), making it the most expensive real estate property sold in Dubai. [8]

Falcon City of Wonders (FCW) is a Dubai-based real-estate project was founded in 2005. The project include international-themed villas, spacious apartments, shopping malls, hotels, business offices, fine-dining restaurants, health clubs, spas, nurseries, schools and parks. When viewed from above, the development resembles a falcon, the national bird of the UAE, with the Falcon Mall forming the head of the falcon. As of 2022, the project has only completed the Left Wing of the city, with major portions still on hold. In August 2016, Dubai Holding announced Mall of the World would be relocated to Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road. The original plan includes eight million square feet of shopping areas, the largest indoor game park in the world with a dome that can be opened during the winter time, and areas for theaters, cultural events, medical tourism, and about 20,000 hotel rooms. The mall is expected to be able to receive 180 million visitors annually.
