Motion Radio is an Indonesian radio station broadcasting a rhythmic contemporary and urban contemporary format. [1] It is part of the KG Radio Network group owned by Kompas Gramedia. It is broadcast in five metropolitan areas.

History

Starting from radio Safari Bisnis FM which was founded in the January 1, 1990, [2] then changed to Jaknews FM. [2] In 2004, This radio station is experiencing internal problems, namely taking broadcast equipment from a radio station based in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta until then redirected to Kompas Gramedia. [2]

This transfer was clearly opposed by employees. They demanded that Jaknews FM be returned from Kompas Gramedia, which was then called Otomotion FM. Until the issue subsides, they will be held accountable.

After about 4 years of being called Otomotion FM, on July 4 2009 it changed its name to Motion Radio so switch the format to Rhythmic CHR and Urban contemporary including R&B and Hip Hop. In the beginning, Motion Radio only broadcast at Jabodetabek on frequency 97.5 FM. But now, Motion Radio is broadcasting in 4 other cities, namely: Bandung 98.8 FM, Bangka 94.4 FM, Malang 102.1 FM, and Cirebon 90.8 FM. [3] [4]
