Muhammad Faiz bin Fadzil is a Malaysian politician who has served as Chairman of the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) since May 2023 and from 2018 to 2020. He served as the Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Permatang Pasir from May 2018 to August 2023. He is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH),a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He has also served as the 3rd Secretary-General of AMANAH since January 2024. He is the son of Fadzil Noor,former Leader of the Opposition and former President of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS).
He is also the owner of a law firm,Faiz Fadzil &Co in Seremban,Negeri Sembilan. [1]
He is the Chairman of Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia replacing Irmohizam Ibrahim in 2018 and was replaced by Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz in 2020. [2] He was reappointed as Chairman since 15 May 2023 for a period of 3 years. [3]
He is a member of AMANAH National Committee for 2019-2022. During the party's National Leadership Committee meeting on 7 January 2024,he was appointed as the new Secretary-General,replacing Dr Hatta Ramli who was promoted to become a Vice President.
He is seen as the future leader to replace Mohamad Sabu and Mahfuz Omar in AMANAH to spread moderate Islam,following his father,Fadzil Noor's will.
He is the son of former President of PAS,Fadzil Noor. [1]
On 10 June 2021,he was charged for sexually assaulting a saleswoman. [4] He was discharged not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) of the case on 7 September 2023. [5]

Abdul Hadi bin Awang is a Malaysian politician and religious teacher who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Marang since October 1990,7th President of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),an Islamist political party and a component party of Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition,since July 2002. The 2023 Pulai by-election was a by-election held on 9 September 2023 for the Dewan Rakyat seat of Pulai. It was called following the death of incumbent,Salahuddin Ayub on 23 July 2023 of brain haemorrhage. The by-election was held on the same day as the Simpang Jeram by-election.
The 2023 Simpang Jeram by-election was a by-election held on 9 September 2023 for the Johor State Legislative Assembly seat of Simpang Jeram. It was called following the death of incumbent,Salahuddin Ayub on 23 July 2023. The by-election were held on the same day as the 2023 Pulai by-election. Salahuddin was a 2-term Member of Parliament for Pulai,and also 2-term Member of Johor State Assembly for Simpang Jeram,both since 2018. He was a member and Deputy Preseident (2015-2023) of the National Trust Party (AMANAH),a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.This also the first elections with incumbent death still hold both parlimantary and state constituencies since Fadzil Noor with Anak Bukit by-election in 2002.
