Murulla is a locality in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located on the New England Highway and Main North railway line. A now closed railway station which opened in 1872 was located there, no trace now remains. [1] It is the site of a serious railway accident that occurred in 1926.

An island platform is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost-effective reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks.

The Murulla rail accident involved the collision of the Sydney-bound Northern Mail with runaway goods wagons near Murrurundi, New South Wales, in the Upper Hunter Valley on 13 September 1926; 26 persons lost their lives. A goods train had become divided and the attempts of the train crew to reunite the portions resulted in 12 vehicles running away down a steep gradient, and colliding with the approaching mail train. This was the worst accident on the New South Wales rail network until the Granville railway disaster in 1977.
Delhi Junction, also known as Old Delhi Railway Station, is the oldest railway station of Delhi city and a Junction station. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India in terms of frequency. Around 250 trains start, end, or pass through the station daily. It was established near Chandni Chowk in 1864 when trains from Howrah, Calcutta started operating up to Delhi. Its present building was constructed by the British Indian government in the style of the nearby Red Fort and opened in 1903. It has been an important railway station of the country and preceded the New Delhi Railway Station by about 60 years. Chandni Chowk station of the Delhi Metro is located near it.

Shenzhenbei Railway Station is one of the four large intercity railway stations of Shenzhen, located in Longhua District. It has 11 platforms and 20 lines. It is an interchange station between the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, future Shenzhen–Zhanjiang high-speed railway and the Shenzhen Metro Lines 4, 5 and 6. Construction started in 2007 and was completed in June 2011. The Line 4 platforms opened on 16 June 2011, Line 5 platforms opened on 28 June 2011, CRH platforms opened on 26 December 2011 and Line 6 platforms opened on 18 August 2020.

Xiamen North railway station is a railway station located in Houxi Town, Jimei District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China, on the Fuzhou-Xiamen railway and Xiamen-Shenzhen railway which operated by Nanchang Railway Bureau, China Railway Corporation. It was built to allow train lines that pass through Xiamen to continue to the south west rather than ending in Xiamen at Xiamen railway station. Due to this advantage it is now bigger than Xiamen railway station.

The Nahe Valley Railway is a two-track, partially electrified main line railway in the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, which runs for almost 100 kilometres along the Nahe. It was built by the Rhine-Nahe Railway Company and connects Bingen am Rhein on the Left Rhine line with Saarbrücken. It was opened between 1858 and 1860 and is one of the oldest railways in Germany. The section south of Bad Kreuznach is part of the regionally important transport corridor between the two major cities of Mainz and Saarbrücken.

Kanchipuram Railway Station serves as the principal railway station of the temple city of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. The station is a part of the Chennai railway division of the Southern Railway zone, one of the eight zones of the Indian Railways and is coded as CJ for official purposes. The station code can be retraced to a time as early as the 1860s when a 3ft 6in wide gauge line was laid between Arakkonam and Kanchipuram by Indian Tramway Company. Southbound services towards Chengalpattu were then inaugurated, much later in the 1880s, when the Chengalpattu - Walajabad section was commissioned, after which in 1891, Arakkonam - Chengalpattu and Chengalpattu - Arakkonam passenger services began, post conversion of the entire section to Broad Gauge.
