Ortochile is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Western Palaearctic realm, including Europe, Turkey, Israel and North Africa. Adults of Ortochile are associated with flowers, and have been reported to feed on nectar and pollen. Flower-feeding is also known in some species of Hercostomus.

Chrysotus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is one of the largest genera in the subfamily Diaphorinae, with more than 460 species. However, the genus is probably paraphyletic, and possibly even polyphyletic, with respect to several related genera such as Achradocera, Falbouria and Lyroneurus.
Katangaia is an African genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It was originally placed in the subfamily Rhaphiinae, though it was later transferred to Dolichopodinae. In 2005, based on a cladistic analysis of the subfamily, Scott E. Brooks excluded Katangaia from the Dolichopodinae. However, later authors have retained the genus in this subfamily.
Keirosoma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the New World. The subfamily has variously been placed in the Rhaphiinae, Diaphorinae or Sympycninae. According to Scott E. Brooks in 2005, the systematic position of the genus is still uncertain, though a possible relationship with Pseudohercostomus has been suggested.
Lichtwardtia is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is considered to be a synonym of Dolichopus by Scott E. Brooks (2005), but not by other authors. Before this, it was considered a possible subgenus of Pterostylus by Oleg Negrobov (1979).
Nepalomyia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Phalacrosoma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. The genus was synonymized with Hercostomus by Scott E. Brooks (2005), but it is considered valid in Igor Grichanov's checklist of the family.
Pseudohercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Oriental and Afrotropical realms as well as Chile.
Sciapus is a genus of long-legged flies in the family Dolichopodidae. There are about 82 described species in Sciapus.
Stenopygium is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It contains two species which are found in the Neotropical realm, and is related to Pelastoneurus.
Sybistroma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes over 50 species, described mainly from the Palaearctic and Oriental realms. A single species is known from the Afrotropical realm. Until 2005, the genus was thought to be restricted to the Mediterranean in distribution, with five known species. It was recently expanded to include the former genera Hypophyllus, Ludovicius and Nordicornis, as well as some species of Hercostomus.
Vetimicrotes is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Palaearctic realm. The genus was originally named Microtes by Theodor Becker in 1918. Afterwards, the name was found to be preoccupied by the grasshopper genus Microtes, so it was renamed to Vetimicrotes by C. E. Dyte in 1980.
Dolichopodinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Peloropeodinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. According to Germann et al. (2011), the subfamily is polyphyletic.

Dolichopus longipennis is a species of long-legged fly in the family Dolichopodidae.
