Myles (established in 2013) is a self-drive car sharing company in India owned by Carzonrent in Delhi, India.

History

Myles was launched in November 2013 by Sakshi Vij of Carzonrent. [1] [2]

She began her career in 2007, when she joined 'Myles’ parent company, Carzonrent India Private Limited (CIPL), as a part of the marketing team. [1]

In January 2019, MG Motor India announced a strategic partnership with Myles. [3] In October 2020, Toyota Motors India, [4] and in August 2020, Maruti Suzuki India tied up with Myles to offer their cars on subscription. [5]

Services

In March 2016, the firm ran more than 1,000 cars across 23 cities in India. [6]

He was appointed managing director in 1999 as the government nominee, and reappointed in May 2002 as the Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) nominee. During his tenure, he oversaw a restructuring of the company in the face of foreign competitors entering the Indian market.

Asahi India Glass Limited, known as AIS, is a glass solutions and manufacturing company in India. It was established in 1984. It manufactures automotive safety glass, float glass, architectural processed glass, and glass products. It also provides consumer glass offerings in the form of Glasxperts and Windshield Experts. AIS was established as a Joint Venture agreement between Mr. BM Labroo and family, Asahi Glass Co. Ltd., Japan, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. In the Indian passenger car glass segment, AIS has 77.1% market share as of 2017. AIS also holds 20% market share in India’s architectural glass segment as of 2017.

Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited(SMGPL) is an automotive manufacturing plant owned by Suzuki Motor Corporation. Located in Hansalpur Becharaji village of Mandal Taluka in Ahmedabad District, it is the first and the only Suzuki automobile manufacturing plant in India that is wholly owned directly by Suzuki as a foreign company, as the other plants are owned by Maruti Suzuki. The plant supplies vehicles to Maruti Suzuki in the domestic market and to overseas markets. The plant was opened on 1 February 2017 and has the total annual capacity of 750,000 units. The plant has helped Suzuki achieve exports of 2 million units from India. On 31 July, Maruti Suzuki made an announcement to acquire 100% stake of SMG from SMC.

Revv Cars is an Indian self-drive mobility start up funded by Hyundai and others. The company was founded by Anupam Agarwal and Karan Jain in July 2015 and started its operation in Delhi-NCR. Through Revv, customers can rent a car up to a period of 4 years. Apart from renting for specific number of hours or days, the company also let customers rent for one-way journeys. The company operates with a standard hub model - where there is a hub of cars from where the vehicles are dropped to the customers. The company staff is able to come back to the hub with the help of a foldable electric scooter which is stored in the boot of the car. The company had stopped its services during the initial lockdown for few months and resumed later. Apart from acquiring vehicles directly, the company also works on a crowdsourcing model in which individual would buy a car on a 10% down payment and register it with Revv. Revv pays a fee to the individual that is equal to the monthly installment to pay the loan which is usually for 4 years.
