N-1 Victory

The N-1 Victory is an annual professional wrestling round-robin tournament held by Pro Wrestling Noah, established in 2010 as the Global League. In 2019, the tournament was rebranded as the N-1 Victory.

Contents

The N-1 Victory adopts a points system, with two points for a win, one for a time expired draw, and, none for other draw or a loss. The tournament matches are held under the GHC title match rules as the base rule, having a 30-minute time limit. The prize for winning the tournament is a shot at the GHC Heavyweight Championship.

The semi-finals were single elimination matches with the winners facing each other in the final later in the same night. The 2023 edition took place between August 6 and September 3, with the final at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium. The participants and matches were announced on June 22. Sixteen wrestlers competed in the tournament with special guests including All Japan Pro Wrestling's Yuma Anzai and Dragon Gate's Yuki Yoshioka competing in this year's tournament. On August 19, it was announced that Daiki Inaba would be absent for the remainder of the tournament, due to injury, leading him to forfeit the remainder of their matches.

    The Global Honored Crown (GHC) Heavyweight Championship is the professional wrestling world heavyweight championship created and promoted by Pro Wrestling Noah, which was merged with Japanese promotion DDT to form CyberFight in 2020. It is one of CyberFight's two top men's world titles, alongside the KO-D Openweight Championship in DDT Pro-Wrestling. The title was also defended on Impact Wrestling which has a working relationship with Pro Wrestling Noah. It was created on April 15, 2001 when Mitsuharu Misawa defeated Yoshihiro Takayama in a 16-man tournament final. Though its name implies a particular weight class, it has been periodically held by junior heavyweights, including Yoshinari Ogawa, Kenta, Naomichi Marufuji, Katsuhiko Nakajima and Kenoh.

    The Global Honored Crown (GHC) Hardcore Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the Japanese professional wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling Noah, originally created in 2004 as a singles title known as the Global Hardcore Crown (GHC) Openweight Hardcore Championship. Colloquially known as the "White GHC" belt due to its white leather strap, the championship was primarily associated with Jun Akiyama during it original run. Most matches contested for the championship were held with a 15-minute time limit and often featured special stipulations chosen by the champion. The championship was first retired in 2009.

    Kenta Kobayashi, known mononymously as Kenta, is a Japanese professional wrestler. He currently works for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a member of the Bullet Club stable. A former amateur kickboxer, Kobayashi's wrestling style is based upon strong kicks and strikes. Kobayashi pioneered both the Go 2 Sleep and Busaiku Knee kick finishing maneuvers, later popularized by CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, respectively.

    Yuji Nagata is a Japanese professional wrestler, and former mixed martial artist and amateur wrestler currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Considered one of the greatest Japanese wrestlers of all time, he is the fifth longest-reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion with a reign of 392 days, and formerly held the record for most successful title defenses with 10, until Hiroshi Tanahashi broke the record at Wrestle Kingdom VI. He is the only wrestler to have won Japanese professional wrestling's three biggest singles tournaments; New Japan Pro-Wrestling's G1 Climax, All Japan Pro Wrestling's Champion Carnival and Pro Wrestling Noah's Global League. In addition, he is the only man to have held all four major heavyweight championships in Japanese professional wrestling, the IWGP, World, GHC and Triple Crown heavyweight championships, making him the only "Grand Slam" champion.

    Naomichi Marufuji is a Japanese professional wrestler currently signed to Pro Wrestling Noah. Marufuji is a four-time GHC Heavyweight Champion, as well as the first of two men to win Junior Heavyweight Championships in all three major Japanese promotions. In 2009, he was appointed to the position of Vice President of Pro Wrestling Noah, and has retained the position since, being reappointed in September 2011. He also makes occasional appearances in other professional wrestling promotions including New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), Ring of Honor (ROH), and Impact Wrestling.

    The Global Honored Crown (GHC) Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling tag team title in Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Noah, contested exclusively among junior heavyweight wrestlers. It was created on July 16, 2003, when Kenta and Naomichi Marufuji defeated Jushin Thunder Liger and Takehiro Murahama in a tournament final. It is currently one of two tag team titles in Noah, along with the typically heavyweight GHC Tag Team Championship. Although the weight limit is, The Briscoe Brothers won the titles weighing slightly more than this on January 7, 2007.

    Takashi Sugiura is a Japanese professional wrestler, currently working for Pro Wrestling Noah (Noah). Sugiura, an accomplished amateur wrestler, joined Noah's dojo in 2000, making his professional debut on December 23, 2000, and thus becoming the first wrestler to make his pro wrestling debut in Noah. He has also competed in mixed martial arts with a notable victory over Giant Silva. Sugiura wrestled as a junior heavyweight in his earlier pro career and is a former GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion. Sugiura moved up to heavyweight and became the second longest reigning GHC Heavyweight Champion, having held the title for 581 days between December 2009 and July 2011. As of September 2011, Sugiura is the chairman of Noah's Wrestler's Association and holds the concomitant position on the promotion's board of directors.

    Shuhei Taniguchi is a Japanese professional wrestler who has worked for Pro Wrestling Noah since his debut in December 2005. He is also known by the ring name Maybach Taniguchi, under which he portrays a villainous masked character.

    The Global Tag League is a professional wrestling round-robin tag team tournament held by Pro Wrestling Noah. It was created in 2008.

    The Global Junior Heavyweight Tag League is an annual professional wrestling round-robin tag team tournament held by Pro Wrestling Noah since 2007. Originally known as the Nippon TV Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League and from 2011 until 2017 as the NTV G+ Cup Junior Heavyweight Tag League, the tournament was given its current name in May 2017. After a hiatus in 2020, the tournament was brought back in 2021, with a switch in focus from tag teams, to teams of 4.

    The Mighty Don't Kneel (TMDK) are a professional wrestling stable performing in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The stable consists of Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste, Bad Dude Tito, Zack Sabre Jr., Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita. Sabre Jr. was the inaugural NJPW World Television Champion.     Fernando Antonio Cornejo Soto is a masked Mexican professional wrestler known under the ring names El Hijo de Canis Lupus and Alpha Wolf. He is primarily known for working for International Wrestling Revolution Group and Pro Wrestling Noah where he portrays a tecnico wrestling character. He previously worked under the ring names The Ram and Ram el Carnero. Cornejo is a second-generation wrestler, the son of Fernando Cornejo Camarena who used the name "Golpelador" as a wrestler.     The Global Honored Crown (GHC) National Championship is a professional wrestling championship in Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Noah. It was created on October 3, 2019 and inaugurated on November 2 when Takashi Sugiura defeated Michael Elgin. The title is scheduled to be defended exclusively in Japan. Instead of being another "heavyweight" championship, Noah categorizes the title as an openweight title, with both heavyweight and junior heavyweight wrestlers being eligible to challenge for it. The current champion is Jack Morris who is in his first reign.
