Nandamuri Balakrishna is an Indian actor, film producer and politician in the Telugu Desam Party founded by his father and who works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is the sixth son of Telugu matinee idol and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh legendary actor, N. T. Rama Rao. He entered the film industry as a child artist at the age of 14 with the film Tatamma Kala. [1] [2] In the mid-1980s, he graduated to acting in the lead role and soon became one of the sought after actors in Telugu cinema. In his career spanning 40 years, he has acted in over hundred films in a variety of roles. [3] Balakrishna has received two state Nandi Awards for best acting. [4]

He was the guest of honour at the 43rd International Film Festival of India. [5] He is actively involved in politics and is a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founded by his father. In 2014 and 2019 he was elected incumbent M. L. A. from Hindupur for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. [6] [7] He is also the chairman of the trust board for The Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute based in Hyderabad, India. [8] [9]

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, film editor, philanthropist and politician who served as a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He is regarded as one of the most influential actors of Indian cinema. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred to as "Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma". Rao received three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960) under National Art Theater, Madras, and for directing Varakatnam (1970). In 1968, The Government of India honoured him with Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema. In 2013, Rao was voted as "Greatest Indian Actor of All Time" in a CNN-IBN national poll conducted on the occasion of the Centenary of Indian Cinema.

Balakrishna is an elected member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Hindupuram constituency since 2014. The sixth son of actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. T. Rama Rao, Balakrishna made his debut as a child artist at the age of 14 with the film Tatamma Kala (1974). Balakrishna is a recipient of three state Nandi Awards, three SIIMA Awards, and an IIFA Award. In 2012, Balakrishna was the chief guest at the 43rd IFFI. Nandamuri Taraka Ratna was an Indian actor who worked in Telugu cinema. After his debut in Okato Number Kurraadu (2003), he acted in several films as the lead actor and a few as the antagonist. He was a member of the Nandamuri family which is influential in Telugu cinema and politics. Taraka Ratna was also an aspiring politician from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, rooting for the Telugu Desam Party. He died on 18 February 2023 at the age of 39 at Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, following severe health complications.

NTR: Kathanayakudu is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language biographical drama film based on the real life and acting career of N. T. Rama Rao (NTR). It was directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati, Vishnu Vardhan Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, Vibri Media banners. Prasanth Varma is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Telugu cinema. He is best known for directing Awe (2018), Kalki (2019), Zombie Reddy (2021) and Hanu-Man (2024). His debut film Awe won at the National film awards for Best Special Effects, and Best Make-up. He is also the co-founder of Scriptsville, an organization dedicated to supporting screenwriting in Telugu cinema.

Unstoppable is an Indian Telugu-language web television talk show hosted by Nandamuri Balakrishna. Unstoppable was premiered on 4 November 2021 on Aha. The first season became the most watched show on Aha with over 40 crore streaming minutes. It has become the top-rated talk show in India on IMDb. Second season was premiered on 14 October 2022. Third season was a limited edition and premiered on 17 October 2023. Fourth season was premiered on 25 October 2024.

It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in titlular dual role, with Honey Rose in lead roles, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Shruti Haasan, Duniya Vijay, Lal, Ajay Ghosh, John Kokken, Naveen Chandra and Murali Sharma in supporting roles. The film score and soundtrack were composed by S. Thaman.
