The National Mining Museum is dedicated to showcasing Zimbabwe's mining heritage. It was developed by the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe. [1] [2] [3] The museum is located in Kwekwe, a town in central Zimbabwe.

Lancashire Steel F.C. Zimbabwean football which are based in Kwekwe. They were set to play in the second tier of Zimbabwean football after their relegation at the end of the 2008 football season before folding up. Their home stadium is Baghdad Stadium. Lancashire Steel sold their franchise to Mateta (Gokwe) in 2009. The club reformed in 2010 and played in the Midlands Region Division Two 2B were they finish Runners-up in the league. In 2011 Lancashire Steel are in the Zifa Central Region Division One.

Amaveni Township is a high density suburb in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe. It is about three miles west of the city's central business district. The township's name of 'Amaveni' according to one of its first residents, the late Jonas Macela Nkomo (1908–2002), was derived from a Ndebele army's battalion that was called by the same name. The battalion fought during the 1893 Anglo-Ndebele war in Matebeleland region of Zimbabwe.

Blessing Chebundo is a Zimbabwean politician, a member of parliament and a leading figure in the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). He rose to fame by defeating Emmerson Mnangagwa in a contest to represent Kwekwe constituency in the parliament of Zimbabwe in the 2000 parliamentary election. Mnangagwa, a heavyweight in ZANU-PF, was predicted to easily win the constituency, but Chebundo won the seat despite threats to his life. As an incumbent, he again defeated Mnangagwa and was re-elected in the March 2005 parliamentary election.

Silobela is an agricultural village in Kwekwe District in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. It is located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of Kwekwe town, 80 kilometres (50 mi) north-west of Gweru town, and bordering Nkayi on the west.

Tongai Moyo was a contemporary Zimbabwean musician, often referred to as Dhewa. Born and raised in Kwekwe, Dhewa rose to fame in the late 1990s as a solo-artist with the Utakataka express. Smash hits such as Samanyemba, Naye, Muchina Muhombe and many others catapulted Dhewa to national, regional and international fame; he produced 14 albums in a career spanning over two decades.

Redcliff is a parliamentary constituency in the House of Assembly (Zimbabwe) of the Parliament of Zimbabwe created out of Kwekwe Constituency prior to the 2008 general election. It comprises Redcliff Town, Ripple Creek and Komera.It also covers parts of Silobela such as St Marks, Totololo, Loreto, Gothic Mine and Hozoli. East of the Harare-Bulawayo Road it takes up to Shungu and Mlezu in Chiwundura. It is administered by Redcliff Municipality. However, five of its wards are under Zibagwe Rural District Council: 22, 23, 24 and 30, and parts of ward 3.

Globe and Phoenix Mine is a gold mine in Zimbabwe. It is just outside Kwekwe CBD.

A5 Highway is a national road in Zimbabwe. It joins Harare and Bulawayo hence the name Harare-Bulawayo Highway popularly known as Harare-Bulawayo Road.

The Rising Stars were a Zimbabwean first-class cricket team that was formed in 2017. They played their home matches at Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield, Harare. The team was founded by Zimbabwe's former Test cricket captain Tatenda Taibu. They played in Zimbabwe's domestic cricket competitions, starting with the 2017–18 Logan Cup.

Ya FM (91.8) is an interactive radio station licensed in March 2015. The station is located in Zvishavane, Zimbabwe.
