New NZ Party

The Real NZ Party (formerly New NZ Party) is an unregistered political party in New Zealand. The party is nationalist and socially conservative, opposing "open borders, interference by the UN, Government excess, waste and interference, far left and right ideologies, the PC brigade, tyranny by minorities, unlawful religious beliefs and terrorism". [1]

The party was founded by former New Conservative board member David Moffett, and is led by former United Future New Zealand MP Marc Alexander. [2]

In an article in The Spinoff on the "crowded field" of Christian Conservative parties in New Zealand, staff writer Alex Braae described the New NZ Party as "a vehicle for David Moffett which is at this stage is unregistered, and mainly appears to consist of aggressive social media posting." [3]

In March 2020 the party formed an alliance with the New Zealand Outdoors Party, resulting in two Real NZ members being appointed to the Outdoors Party's board. [4]

Marc Alexander is a New Zealand politician. He was elected to Parliament as a list MP for the United Future New Zealand party in 2002, and stood unsuccessfully as the National Party candidate for Wigram in 2008.

Larry Baldock is a New Zealand politician. Before entering national politics, he was previously involved with the International Youth With A Mission organisation and spent 15 years living in the Philippines. After returning to NZ in 1996 he joined the Future NZ Party in 1999. He stood in the Electorate of Tauranga in 1999. In 2001 he was elected to the Tauranga District Council and then became a member of Parliament for the United Future New Zealand party as a list MP from 2002 to 2005.

Gordon Copeland New Zealand politician

Gordon Frank Copeland was a New Zealand politician who served as a Member of Parliament from 2002 to 2008. He entered the House of Representatives as a list MP for the United Future New Zealand Party from 2002 but he resigned from the party in 2007. In March 2009, Copeland became Party President of The Kiwi Party, which he had co-founded with another former United Future list MP, Larry Baldock, in May 2007. David Leslie Moffett is an executive businessman who was the group chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union from 2002 until 2005 and Australia's National Rugby League from 1999 until 2001. In 2019 he briefly served on the board of New Conservative, a minor right-wing political party in New Zealand.
