Contents

Geography

The district is composed of Forest Hills, Rego Park, Middle Village, and parts of Glendale and Ridgewood. [3]

The district overlaps with New York's 5th, 6th and 7th congressional districts, the 12th, 14th and 15th districts of the New York State Senate, and the 29th, 30th, and 32nd districts of the New York City Council.

Peralta was a member of the Independent Democratic Conference (IDC), a group of Democratic senators who allied themselves with Senate Republicans. He was re-elected in 2012, 2014 and 2016, but was defeated in the 2018 Democratic primary.
