Nicole Marie Davis (born April 24, 1982) [1] is a retired American indoor volleyball player and mindset coach at Compete To Create, founded by Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and high performance psychologist, Michael Gervais. Nicole last played professionally for Le Cannet Rocheville in France and retired in 2015. She is 5'4" (167 cm) and played the libero position. She played for Fenerbahçe Women's Volleyball team for the 2007 season and wore the number 1 jersey. She was the first foreign-born libero to play in the Turkish league and led her team to a second-place finish. Davis represented the United States at the 2008 Olympics and 2012 Olympics, helping Team USA to a silver medal both times. She was also part of the US team that won the 2014 World Championships.
Davis was born in Stockton, California, to Randy and Barbara Davis. Her favorite sports team is the New York Yankees, her favorite movie is Dirty Dancing , her favorite TV show is Grey's Anatomy. [2]
She graduated from Lincoln High School in Stockton in 2000. In her four years there, she was a three-year letter winner and played as an outside hitter and libero. As a senior, she earned All-San Joaquin League and All-Area honors. In her senior season, she had season totals of 357 kills, 569 digs, 35 aces and 40 blocks. Her high school total is 705 kills, 1,254 digs, 103 aces and 82 blocks. She helped her team to the NorCal championships in 1999 and 2000.
She played club volleyball for Nike Pacific and Delta Valley Volleyball Club, where she was named to the junior Olympic team in 1999 and 2000.
Davis was a political science major at the University of Southern California.
In her senior season in 2003, she dominated the libero position as she led USC to their second consecutive NCAA national championship. She started all 35 matches and averaged 4.25 digs per game - the second-best single season performance in program history. She finished her USC career with 1,093 total digs and a 3.09 digs per game average to rank sixth in both USC career record categories. She surpassed her own career high and set a new USC record for digs in a three-game match with 31 against Stanford. On December 13 against UCLA in the NCAA Regional Final, Davis tied her career mark and USC record by posting another 31-dig performance against the Bruins. She trained with the USA A2 Women's National Team in Lake Placid, New York, during the summer of 2003.
Her happiest moment in sports was winning back-to-back NCAA Division I volleyball championships with USC in 2002 and 2003.
Davis was also named "Best Libero" at the Montreux Volley Masters in 2011. She also took part as the starting libero for the U.S. National team at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Where the team won the silver medal in both games. In addition to winning the silver medal in 2012, she was also ranked 2nd best libero in terms of statistics.
Logan Maile Lei Tom is an American former indoor volleyball and beach volleyball player, and is the current head coach of the Israel women's national volleyball team. She is a four-time Olympian at the outside hitter position. At age 19, Logan became the youngest woman ever to be selected for an American Olympic volleyball team when she competed at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She was a skilled all-around player who brought stability to the American serve receive and defense, while also providing the team with a solid attack and block at the net. She was a huge part of the national team from 2000 to 2012. At the 2008 Olympics, Tom helped Team USA win a silver medal and was named Best Scorer, she won another silver medal at the 2012 Olympics with the national team. She was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix.
The USC women's volleyball team is coached by Brad Keller, who was named to the position on February 20, 2020.
Stacy Denise Sykora is a retired American volleyball player. She was a two-time All-American at Texas A&M University and she competed in both the 2000 and the 2004 Olympics as part of the U.S. women's national team. She made her third Olympic appearance at the 2008 Olympics, helping Team USA to a silver medal.
Kimberly Marie Glass is an American indoor volleyball player and model. She is 6 ft 2.5 in (189.2 cm) and plays as an outside hitter. She joined the U.S. national team on May 23, 2007. Glass made her first Olympic appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, helping Team USA to a silver medal.
Cynthia Jane Barboza is an American retired volleyball player. She is an outside hitter who played at Stanford University for four years.
Megan Hodge Easy is an American indoor volleyball player who won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with the US team and played for Pennsylvania State University's volleyball team. Currently, she plays in Brazilian team Itambé-Minas.
Kim Marie Willoughby is a retired American indoor volleyball player. She is 5'11" and was an outside hitter. In 2007, she played professionally for the Italian Serie A League Familia Chieri. In April 2008, she joined the U.S. national team. Willoughby made her Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, helping the United States to a silver medal.
Jennifer Claire Tamas is an American indoor volleyball player. Tamas made her first Olympic appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and helped Team USA to a silver medal.
April Elizabeth Ross is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman. Ross and Kessy were also the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Champions.
Tri Bourne is a professional American beach volleyball player. He was formerly a professional indoor player and NCAA Division 1 Men's Volleyball player for the USC Trojans. He has been a part of the United States indoor and beach national teams since 2005. He was born on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, where he grew up. His father Peter Bourne and mother Katy Bourne are both triathletes.
The California Golden Bears women's volleyball team is the intercollegiate women's volleyball team of the University of California, Berkeley. The team plays its home games at Haas Pavilion, which was built on top of the old Harmon Gymnasium using money donated in part by the owners of Levi-Strauss. The arena was originally known as Men's Gymnasium and then later Harmon Gymnasium until the late 1990s when it went through massive renovations, which displaced the team for two seasons. The California volleyball program has seen great success in recent years, reaching the final four in 2007, winning the Pac-10 championship in 2010, and finishing as the runner-up in the NCAA tournament in 2010. The current head coach is Sam Crosson, who began his tenure in 2019.
Tamari Miyashiro is an American former indoor volleyball player and coach. As a libero, she was a two-time National Defensive Player of the Year at the University of Washington and played on the United States women's national volleyball team from 2010-2012. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics as a player and helped lead the national team to a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics as an assistant coach.
Kayla Banwarth is an American former volleyball player and coach. She played as a libero for the United States women's national volleyball team. Banwarth won gold with the national team at the 2014 World Championship, and bronze at the 2015 World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Kelsey Christine Plum is an American professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She won back-to-back WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, she earned her first All-WNBA First Team selection and was named the WNBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player (MVP) in her first WNBA All-Star Game. She also won gold medals in 3x3 basketball at the 2020 Summer Olympics and in 5x5 basketball in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Micha Danielle Hancock is an American indoor volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team. Hancock played setter for the Penn State women's volleyball team, and won back-to-back national championships in 2013 and 2014. Hancock won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Justine Wong-Orantes is an American volleyball player who plays as libero for the United States women's national volleyball team. She played college volleyball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where she won an NCAA national championship. She began playing for U.S. national team in 2017. In 2021, she was one of twelve players who won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the first-ever gold medal finish for the women's national team.
Megan Eileen Courtney-Lush is an American indoor professional volleyball player for the Columbus Fury of the Pro Volleyball Federation and the United States women's national volleyball team. Courtney played outside hitter for the Penn State women's volleyball team, and won back to back national championships in 2013 and 2014. With the USA national team, she played at the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix. She was named the best libero at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League. Courtney was also selected as an alternate to the 2020 USA Olympic Team but did not travel to Tokyo.
Sarah Marie Sponcil is an American volleyball player for the Grand Rapids Rise of the Pro Volleyball Federation, best known for her beach volleyball career. Sarah competed for the USA Volleyball Beach National Team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Sarah and partner Kelly Claes tied for 9th in their debut Olympics. At 24 and 25, Sponcil and Claes, respectively, were the youngest beach volleyball team to represent the USA since its inception as an Olympic sport in 1996.
Morgan Irene Hentz is an American professional volleyball player who plays as a libero for the United States women's national volleyball team and the Atlanta Vibe of the Pro Volleyball Federation.
Zoe Jenellen Fleck is an American professional volleyball player who plays as a libero. She played collegiately at UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, and Texas, where she won the 2022 national championship.
