Norman Needleman,better known as Norm Needleman,is an American politician who is currently serving as the first selectman of Essex,Connecticut. In addition to this,he also currently serves as a Connecticut State Senator from the 33rd district,which includes the town of Essex. Needleman is a member of the Democratic Party.
Needleman was elected as First Selectman of the town of Essex in 2011. [1] Needleman has been re-elected selectman in every election afterwards,most recently in 2019. [2]
In 2018,Needleman ran for the Connecticut State Senate's 33rd district seat,which encompasses Essex and the surrounding towns. Needleman would later win that election over Republican Melissa Ziobron. [3] In August 2020,in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias and Eversource Energy's widely criticized [4] response to power outages brought on by storm damages,Needleman called upon the CEO of Eversource,James Judge,to resign. [5] In 2020,Needleman was re-elected to a second term as state senator. [3]

Tony Scott is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 112th district,which includes the town of Monroe and parts of Easton and Trumbull. Scott is a member of the Republican Party. Scott was elected to the seat during a special election which was held after incumbent Republican J.P. Sredzinski vacated the seat in February 2021. Scott beat out Democrat Nick Kapoor by over 7 points in the April 13th election. Most recently,Scott won re-election in a landslide,overwhelmingly beating his opponent by almost 20 points to win a second term in Hartford.
