Gorguts is a Canadian death metal band from Sherbrooke, Quebec, formed in 1989. The band has been through many personnel changes since its inception, and its only constant member has been guitarist and vocalist Luc Lemay, who remains the primary creative force in the band. To date they have released five full-length albums and one EP. Their most recent release is the EP Pleiades' Dust, released on May 13, 2016. Their latest full-length album Colored Sands was released in 2013 and was nominated for a Juno Award. Musically the band is known for its complex, musically dense form of technical death metal, and has become "one of the most advanced, experimental, and challenging groups in the entire genre."

The album is notable for the fact that Mann was initially without a record company and sold the album through her website, but the album went on to gain a worldwide release and achieve respectable sales. This was aided by the success of the Magnolia soundtrack, for the film of the same name by Paul Thomas Anderson, with which the album shares material.

Jesu (band)

Jesu are a British experimental band formed in 2003 by Justin Broadrick following the breakup of his band Godflesh. It shares its name with the last song on Hymns, the final album of Godflesh's initial run. Jesu's sound is heavily layered and textured, incorporating a diverse mix of influences. Broadrick himself has stated that "...it's very loosely speaking pop/rock/metal/electronica ... I'm intentionally writing what I consider to be coherent 'pop' songs".

Metal Heart is the sixth studio album by German heavy metal band Accept, released in 1985. Although the group had recorded before at Dierks-Studios, this was the first album produced by Dieter Dierks himself. It marked the return of guitarist Jörg Fischer after a two year absence, with Herman Frank having been his replacement. This album was a cautious attempt to crack the lucrative American market with more accessible songcraft and emphasis on hooks and melodies. Although critically panned at the time, today Metal Heart is often considered by fans as one of the band's best records. It contains several of their classic songs such as "Metal Heart" and "Living for Tonite". The band also makes a detour into jazz metal territory with the unusual song "Teach Us to Survive".

Void is the debut full-length studio album by the American post-metal band Intronaut. It was released on August 23, 2006 in the USA through the Goodfellow Records.

Cynic (band) American band

Cynic is an American progressive metal band formed in Miami, Florida in 1987 which incorporates elements of progressive rock, alternative rock, and extreme metal. Their first album, Focus, released on September 14, 1993, is widely regarded as a landmark release of the progressive metal genre. Cynic disbanded in 1994, but they reunited in 2006 and released their second album on November 17, 2008. Traced in Air was released through French label Season of Mist, followed up by an EP titled Re-Traced on May 18, 2010 and an EP titled Carbon-Based Anatomy on November 11, 2011. Their third studio album, Kindly Bent to Free Us, was released on February 14, 2014. In December 2017, after two years of an uncertain future, Reinert confirmed his split from Cynic, leaving Masvidal as the only remaining original member left. Reinert died at the age of 48 on January 24, 2020. Malone died at the age of 50 eleven months later.

The band is named after the biblical story of Cain and Abel, in which a man named Cain kills his brother Abel. Band member Jason Null thought up the band title saying "I Googled the story of Cain and Abel and found a line about 'there was no saving Abel,' which just jumped out at me."

Valley of Smoke is the third full-length album from American post-metal band Intronaut. It was released in North America on October 12, 2010 on Century Media Records, who also released their previous album Prehistoricisms. The album was released in Europe with exclusive bonus track "Vernon" on November 22, 2010.

The Kindred is a Canadian progressive rock sextet formed in Ottawa, Ontario. Originally formed in the winter of 2006, the band released their debut EP Ms. Mary Mallon on July 4, 2008 and their debut full-length Lore on June 14, 2011, both independently. Following their name change and signing to Sumerian Records the band released Life in Lucidity in 2014. After three years and various member changes, the band released a new EP Weight, advertised as part one of their upcoming full-length to be released later in the year.

Can't Blame a Girl for Trying is the debut extended play by American singer Sabrina Carpenter. It was released by Hollywood Records on April 8, 2014. On music provider iTunes, it was later replaced by her 2015 studio album which all four tracks were included. The EP was produced by Brian Malouf, Jim McGorman, Robb Vallier, Matt Squire, Steve Tippeconic, Scott Harris, John Gordon and Julie Frost.

Leon del Muerte is a musician living in Portland, Oregon, USA. He is a founding member, guitarist and vocalist of the band Murder Construct. He is a guitarist in Terrorizer LA and Lightbreaker, vocalist in Impaled, and was previously involved with the bands Nails, Exhumed, Nausea LA, Intronaut, Phobia and Artificium Sanguis.
