Okada is a town located in the Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. ^[2] Situated in the southern part of the state, it serves as the administrative headquarters of the Ovia North-East Local Government Area. ^{[3] [4]}

History

The town of Okada has a deep-rooted history that dates back centuries. It is inhabited by the Edo people, who are known for their advanced bronze casting and artistic skills. ^{[5] [ failed verification ]}

The town was home to a population of 78,000 individuals as recorded in 2011. ^[1]

Education

Okada is home to Igbinedion University. The institution was founded by Sir Gabriel Igbinedion. ^[6]

Transportation

Okada is well-connected in terms of transportation. The town is situated seven kilometers off the major Benin-Sagamu Expressway. This highway facilitates easy movement of people and goods. The road network within Okada town is also well-maintained, allowing for efficient intra-town transport.^{[ citation needed ]}
