Pachattiri is a small village located near Tirur in Kerala, India. It lies on the banks of the Tirur River. A temple devoted to Krishna is located here, as is a temple devoted to Shiva.This was a part of the Kingdom of Tanur (Vettattnad) kingdom in medieval times.

Kerala State in southern India

The Tirur River begins in the Tirur taluk village of Athavanad in the Malappuram district of the state of Kerala in south India and flows south-west to Thirunavaya and then north-west to Elamkulam where it turns south-west, joining the Bharathapuzha River, which flows into the Arabian Sea near the coastal town of Ponnani. It is known for its beautiful mangroves and its many varieties of fishes and birds.

Krishna Major deity in Hinduism

Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism. He is worshipped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu and also as the supreme God in his own right. He is the god of compassion, tenderness, and love in Hinduism, and is one of the most popular and widely revered among Indian divinities. Pachattiri is very near to Thunchanparambu. Thunchathu Ezhuthachan is the inventor of Malayalam Language. Further, Kerala's first train service commenced from Tirur to Bepur which is also very near to Pachattiri.

Transportation

Pachattiri village connects to other parts of India through Tirur town. National highway No.66 passes through Tirur and the northern stretch connects to Goa and Mumbai. The southern stretch connects to Cochin and Trivandrum. Highway No.966 goes to Palakkad and Coimbatore. The nearest airport is at Kozhikode. The nearest major railway station is at Tirur.
