The Naples Historical Society's Historic Palm Cottage (also known as the Henry Watterson Cottage or The Cement Cottage,The Parmer Home, or Hamilton House) is a historic home in Naples, Florida. It is located in the Naples Historic District. [2]

The antiques filled cottage, is a rare example of tabby mortar construction. The Historic Palm Cottage is Naples oldest house (1895) and is proudly maintained by the Naples Historical Society and is located at 137 12th Avenue South,(at Gulfshore Blvd.) a block East of Naples Pier. [3] On May 24, 1982, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

It was the summer cottage of the Louisville, Ky Courier Journal and Times then owner/editor, Walter N. Haldeman. Other Louisvillians owned homes in the area in this era.

The house is owned and operated as a museum by the Naples Historical Society. The house has been decorated to reflect the early 1900s, and include the adjacent Norris Gardens, which feature five distinct themed areas and both the garden and house are open for docent guided tours Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. More information at: http://www.napleshistoricalsociety.org/

The Downtown Miami Historic District is a U.S. historic district located in the CBD of Downtown Miami, Florida. The district is bounded by Miami Court, North Third Street, West Third Avenue, and South Second Street. It contains 60 historic buildings. A large portion the buildings in the historic district were built during the Florida land boom of the 1920s, when Miami experienced rapid population growth. Many of the older structures from before the 1920s, were smaller scale buildings and homes from the Miami pioneer era of the mid and late-19th century. Palm Cottage, built in 1897 is a home from the pioneer era that is still standing, however, few of these original homes remain.

The Henry B. Plant Museum is housed in the south wing of Plant Hall on the University of Tampa's campus, located at 401 West Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa Florida. Plant Hall was originally built by Henry B. Plant as the Tampa Bay Hotel; a 511-room resort-style hotel that opened on February 5, 1891 near the terminus of the Plant System rail line, also forged and owned by Plant. Keewaydin Club United States historic place

The Keewaydin Club is a historic site in Naples, Florida. The Inn, which opened in 1934 and closed in 1999, is located at the north end of Keewaydin Island. On December 22, 1987, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Island remained basically natural with no cars or vehicles other than a golf cart at the club on the few southern hundred yards of the c. 7 mile long island where the rustic but charming club and its guest cottages were located. The island guest strollers would carefully scan the tidal harvest for the daily incoming batch of sea shells, one of the best beaches in Florida for finding many unusual specimens. From mid island, beach walkers could see Marco Island in the distance, highly glitzy and very developed since the 1960s, the opposite of the old pre World War II Florida on untouched and in no way commercialized or developed Keewaydin Island.

Palm Cottage (Miami, Florida) United States historic place

The Palm Cottage is a historic home in Miami, Florida. It is the last known building in Miami directly associated with railroad magnate and developer Henry M. Flagler. It is also one of the city's few surviving examples of Folk Victorian architecture. Built around 1897, this house was one of at least 30 rental houses that Flagler constructed as homes for the workers building his Royal Palm Hotel. The building was moved to Fort Dallas Park in 1980, located at 60 Southeast 4th Street. On January 4, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
